FWIW, I believ that one of the agreements of the IRS was that it was not to pull competitors away or run in direct competition to the Shannons Nationals. Whether this is documented on paper, or a gentleman's agreement, or just something agreed to "in principle" - it would seem that this could be part of the reason why CAMS has asked IRS not to run. It's drawn competitors away from the V8Touring class.

Or CAMS wokeup and realised that running TWO series on the same weekend was sheer madness.

On the plus side, it seems the IRS had over twice the entries of the AMRC at Winton........ hmmm.
