Bononi:

Sir Jack Brabham is the father of David and Gary Brabham, who are, therefore, most definitely brothers. There is actually a third racing Brabham brother, Geoff, but he never made it to F1.

And the car in which Sir Jack won the WDC was a Brabham-Repco, not a Brabham-Honda, which was a Formula 2 car. To hear what the Brabham-Honda sounds like (a typical 1960s F2 "screamer") visit the Honda website:

http://www.honda.co.jp/hondafan/sound/automobiles.html

If your computer tells you that you need Japanese script software, don't bother downloading it, you won't actually need it ...

quote: there 2 others Brabham :

David Brabham (mentioned by Radisichrox): who drove from 1990 to 1994;
having 30 gps with 26 starts with best finish being 10th, and best grid position 21th.

Gary Brabham : 2 gps but not pre-qualified.

I can't tell you the links between the 3, but I suspect Gary and David are brothers

They are brothers.

Geoff Brabham actually finished second (I think) in the Indy 500 and drove in Indy cars for a while.

David Brabham, the worst? I don't think so. However the Simtek he drove would have to be the worst car. It was so bad everyone has forgotten it. As for the worst driver, I couldn't say. Norberto Fontana perhaps (sorry Mekola)?

14 wins, 13 poles and 12 fastest laps, this aussie was a master.

Maybe Peter or Murph can help us with that.
Ahh yes, that's who I meant. Thanks for the clarification
I don't think David or Gary is worthy of the Brabham name.

What a horrid thing to say.

I'm sure Sir Jack would be fascinated to hear your opinion of his boys.

I assume you've not seen them race? Because if you had, you would see two classy drivers with an elegant touch.

And if David is to be classed as a bad driver, after winning the Bathurst 1000, British Formula 3 Championship, Macau GP, Japanese GT Championship, American Professional Sports Car series, class wins at the Le Mans 24 hour race, and being runner-up in the American Le Mans Series, can I ask just what the hell a bloke has to do not to be classed as a bad driver?

....... But in formula 1 he never scored a single point and struggled in a car (Simtek 1994, Brabham, 1992) that had the power of a lawnmower. See my point????

Precisely, Williams Fan.

And welcome to the forum!

I've never been able to get my head around the assumption that a driver, because he is not one of the lucky six to be in the Ferrari/Williams/Macaroon of any given year, has no right to be considered a master of his art.

I seem to recall some other fellow trying to qualify a 1992 Brabham, and not being terribly convincing.

Goodness only knows what happened to him when he went to Williams in 1993....

These two races were better than Minardi did all season.

Yeah, I heard about those races when he was announced to join Minardi on a website somewhere, but ever since it's been a bit of a secret for some reason.

Worst driver - Domenico Schiattarello - Simtex '94, especially at the Monaco Grand Prix.
I quote from Muarry Walker's 1995 review. 'Schiattarello given a suspended $20,000 fine for driving towards traffic during an unsuccessful spin-turn. Qualifies 19th. Involved with lap one Ste Devote shambles and unable to take restart due to damage recieved when car dropped off recovery truck....'
