I dont think there will be any great advantage with the sprint tyre, too many safety cars will level the field out during the races, I expect the usual suspects will figure in the results and there will be some tomfoolery in the pits again too.

Gary Rogers is bringing GRM south again this year with a team visit to Gary's Pub at Kettering south of Hobart on Wednesday the 27th of May,
Gary did this last year and most people missed it but I reckon it will be a big one this year. Any one in the south of the state should get down the road, they will be there between 2 and 5.30 |

I reckon its going to be T888 to come 1-2 and then GRM and tanderbeing punted of because of his driving stanards, then he'll go running to the cameras complaining about the driving out on the track.....
All the while David Thexton to come form back of the grid and crash out at the first corner....... |

Should see the V8 lap record broken with the new tyre, maybe even go close to outright record if the conditioons are right.
I think Alfie Constanzo or Alan Jones still holds the outright lap record from memory. |

Maybe not. Remember a few years ago when a fortuitous pit stop at the right time proved an advantage when the safety car was out. Now with the sprint tyre, theres even more chance of going down a lap as the lap time decreases.

Friday's qualifying should be interesting with a nice cool day forecast and a south easterly wind predicted. Make's for a nice tailwind on the back straight, new lap record.
Saturday looks a reasonable day with a moderating south easterly wind. Sunday a fine cool day with light winds. |

A heads up for Adelaide viewers.
With both the Crows and the Power playing on Sunday afternoon, the V8 coverage is delayed until 10:30pm. At least it is still the 3 hours coverage, and not the poorly made highlights package that we received in previous years. |

I know this is probably harsh given the gap from first to last in practice, but when is Alex Davo going to hit his straps like his bro? I really want to see him do well but waiting for the #4 to hit the top 15 seems to be taking a long time to me. Its not like the car is a P.O.S. being a brand new FG

Having said that, his Friday form has been good most rounds this year, top 6 in Clipsal, Hamilton and here. He (or they) just need to maintain it across the weekend. |

Colder than a mother-in-laws kiss on Christmas day!!
Saturday may see a few rain showers during the day which could make qualifying and the Top 10 shoot out a bit interesting. Memo to grid-girls you ladies will be earning your dollars over the weekend standing about in that cool southeasterly breeze! Do no doubt some rock-ape/moral crusader will write into The Exeggerator and complain about the scantily clad XXXX Angels again. The XXXX Angels are appearing at the Perth Pub tonight, no doubt that will increase the local IQ by a fair margin. |

Well, the Evil Empire have finally won!
I won't get to see the races for another week due to the broadcaster Motors TV running into budgetary difficulties, anyone tell me who ran with what tyres? |

I got a little annoyed during the TV coverage of the Shootout
One driver would have a timer for the lap with split times, and then some they had nothing I can understand if there was a technical error, but I didn't hear any explanation |
