an excellent opportunity for di grassi to start his season off, in that case i do hope they're consistent with these penalties. have there been any protests about the protestable ones does anyone know?

Talking of consistency, Di Grassi will have to find some in terms of pace if he is to take the win tomorrow.
Having said that, he was reasonably competitive today judging by the lap times, albeit for minor placings after some troubles early on I think? And Sniper I appreciate your remarks, (i've often fancied myself as a commentator actually !!) but the official website was suprisingly informative even without being able to see the action unfold. However I may have stumbled across a new stream link for the morning having been tipped off by an old colleague. Check out: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/Dimoni-Racing Apparently it was airing today's race. |

Oh hang on, Maldonado's been wide and both Petrov and Hulk are through.
Di Grassi leads from Villa. |

Great scrap between Grosjean and Parente for 11th at this stage. A little reminiscent of Lewis v Timo 3 years ago....
And wow Di Grassi's seriously burning some fat out front....... |

Top 8's boring. It's just Grosjean's drive through that's making this race....if he can nearly pass Parente, he should be able to pass Nunes!

Petrov may have something to say about Villa later on and I think their maybe some fun and games between the ART's.... Parente's moved quite a way further up the road since doing Nunes, it's Grosjean who's not getting the job done I reckon? Typical, as I say that, he goes by at T1!!! |

My stream went down for 3 mins too....
Do you mean Grosjean on Nunes or Parente on Mortara? |

Oh well. Not as good as yesterday's.
I meant Grosjean being repassed by Nunes. |

No you're right Hazard, not as good.
So Di Grassi was able to run consistently at front and fairly dominated. The Barwa cars still seem the easiest to drive and fastest overall but as Grosjean, and in retrospect, I suspect Di Grassi has proved it's harder than ever to make the most of speed in traffic? Petrov now leads the series on 33 points, 2 ahead of Grosjean with Di Grassi on 18, Maldonado on 17. Lot of work still to do if anyone's gonna beat the Barwa's! |

Not sure what happened at the start and god know's where we could find a replay from bella!!!
All I can remember is that Di Grassi got away very well and that was that as far as the lead went and Petrov looked like he launch control or something as he flew past several cars!!! Then on lap 2 Hulkenberg went wide out of T4 (whatever the right hander is before the short downhill stretch is called) having been repelled by Maldonado at the previous corner and lost time and position. If we did a driver of the meeting poll (maybe start one next time out?) I might be tempte to go for Parente. He was looking mega in Race 1 until he spun and stalled and then was the most racey this morning I thought, dealing quite effectively with the threat of series leader Grosjean. |

Is there a chance the Russian bloke could drive in F1 in 2010 - imagine if he got a drive for the US F1 team
Congrats to Vitaly on his race win - impressive stuff |

Di Grassi had a strong getaway to easily lead the race, with Villa slotting in behind him: Petrov had an astonishing start up the inside and squeezed Valsecchi, who was stuck between the Russian and Filippi, with the Italians inevitably touching in turn one, leaving Valsecchi to spin around and take Zuber out while Filippi's left rear was shredded and he had to limp back to the pits for a replacement.
Field shakes out over the first lap, the order was di Grassi, Villa, Maldonado, Hulkenberg, Petrov, Valerio (who had a great weekend), and at the final complex Hulkenberg decided to take a shot at his teammate at the final corner (a la Filippi on Hulkenberg at the same spot in race one), and with the same result: ballsy move but means the inside line is open for Petrov to repeat his run wide, slice inside move and outdrag them both to turn one for third. That's off the top of my head: there was probably some other stuff going on too, but that's the points paying bits, anyway. |

The start and first lap and, Petrov on the following lap I think, stealing it right out from under 'em...as it were. IIRC he took-off after that, and by some margin.
Do the GP2 video's get yanked eventually or no? Edit: was that Filippi Grosjean's trying to pass on the first lap, his car doesn't look any less-wide in replay. |
