I voted no, Pratt&Miller guys are really strong, but the GT2 class is very competitive, hard to see the Vette making a poduim finish for its 1st appearance, once again it will be the Lizards vs Risi, and perhaps the bimmers too

They will do better as BMW but will not win straight out of the box.

The first races for the C5R back in 1999-2000 weren't that great. It took them a few races to get in the groove but it was their first action whatsoever in racing for a while.
They'll have a lot of competition in Mid-Ohio but I hope they'll get a car on the podium. Won't be easy! Doesn't help that there's been very little coming out about the testing. |

In '99 the vette's ran select races and thought that they knew what they were doing. They got their asses kicked . As a result, they built the C6R a few years ago in direct reflection of their understanding of the rules and were strong out of the box. Now using the same base as the GT1 the GT2 should be somewhat ahead of the BMW development curve. Barring a catastrophe, they will be competitive.
Doug Fehan commented in a video that they were in the 1:19's (GT2 pace in 2008) during testing at Road Atlanta. He also expected to be restricted out of the box and the restrictions to be loosened over the first few races (note I didn't say that they were restricted, but he expected to be restricted). Podium possible, win doubtful. google videos: fehan on corvette gt2 HUGEWALLY, see you at Mid-Ohio!!!! Continuing my tour of North American Tracks |

I just hope Corvette offer the GT2 to customer's in plentiful number's, and the V8 is offered to LMP2 team's.
If Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette, BMW and Aston Martin support LMP2 engine and GT2 customer program's, those two classes should be very strong and the bedrock of ACO racing for year's to come. |

Really amazing how the Corvette guys managed to keep the lid on the car right until the end. Ya, we got a few pictures of a black car earlier in the year but other than that "Zilch"!
Will they be going with the standard colors or are they gonna freak everyone out with a new look, if only for the beginning? |

Assuming that all the manufacturers + Oreca + Pescarolo would race in a world series instead of doing full regional series, there aren't very many quality P1 cars left in either Europe or North America. Why not make the P2s (with engine manufacturers people can identify with) the headlining class for the regional series? It surely would be better from a marketing point of view to have Porsche and Ferrari engined cars race eachother instead of Judds and AERs. |

I think they will. I'm a rabid Vette fanboy though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I really am interested to see how this car runs against the BMW's. We will see which car is better right out of the box.

Beautiful!
They look quite a bit different than the LG Corvette. The body around the back wheels look like the way the Porsches are built. LG: http://lgmotorsports.com/gallery/alb...0001/ALMS2.jpg |
