hunttheshunt should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Having thought about it, i'd rather see an 'up and coming' commentator. Charlie Cox is an ex-driver, and i think Murray did compliment him in '97. Of course, in F1 Martin Brundle is the old-hand at driving while Murray never has. So thinking about it i'd like to see a new 'Muray Walker' type guy (or girl) doing the commentary w/Charlie.

I just got the 1997 review tape yesterday (along with the 1991 which i feel was a really weak season) !! so I was really impressed when I watched it with how good Charlie Cox's commentary was. He had some really funny jokes... "You don't want to go in the water, Rickard because the Vectra of Cleland has smelled your blood!!" ... Murray really had a nice fit with Charlie that year.

Bloody Aussies are even the best at commentating!

I, of course, most certainly approve Murray commentating on anything. He could make two flys crawling up the wall exciting enough.

I've got some old BTCC tapes at home, and he's always in fine form, even though there are the odd mistake or ten!

It's a pity he doesn't do it anymore, but......

On the video "Murrey's Magic Moments" he says he was upset when he had to give up the BTCC commentary, no doubt ITV had something to do with it at the end of 1997, and he obviously still enjoyed it as he came out in 1997 and 1998 when the Bathurst 1000 was run for Super Tourers to commentate.

I think Murrey should swap places with John Watson. Watson commentates for Channel 9 in Australia at the Australian Grand Prix everyu year, and he seems a bit bored and not interested in this years series, not like in 98 & 99, and he used to commentate F1 on eurosport. Maybe Brundle/Watson in F1, Walker/Cox in BTCC.

How was 1991 a weak season, plenty of cars, drama (The BMW's running into each other at the penultimate round at Thruxton), probably the only weak part was that converted Group A cars (M3's, Middlehurst's Sierra) dominated.

Sorry Racer69, I said that because that was my first impression of it. I said that because there were really only 2 manufacturers contesting races, which made them boring, in a way. Although Andy Rouse was up there in a couple of races, he had meager support from Gary Ayles.

I take my claim that 1991 was boring back.

I agree, Watson really isn't as enthusiastic as Murray.

What is this "Murrays magic moments" video????? Is it for touring cars? I have the murrays magic moments for Formula 1, but i've never seen a tape like that for touring cars.

Sorry, its called "Murrey's Motorsport Spectacular" (brainfade, got videos mixed up)

In it it has the things he did outside F1. It shows Grand Prix races from the 50s and 60s, Murrey's ride in the 2 seater McLaren, Murrey driving a McLaren F1 car in 1984, and Murrey's favourite moments from Rallycross, and the BTCC, and the Bathurst 1000 that he commentated on in 97 & 98.

The BTCC stuff is good, it only goes through the years Murrey commentated on it, 88 - 97, but it is great. The Group A racing is cool, and there is some really good Super Touring action as well, but you probably would have seen all the super touring stuff on the video reviews.

All in all, its a top video.
