So the Mansells (all three) will be racing at the Dubai 24 Hours, in a Lotus Evora GT4. There will be a GT2 version of the Evora for 2011, hopefully in time for Le Mans... I do wonder...?
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/88884 A few weeks ago, Mansell threw his support behind Group Lotus (who are producing the LMP2 and GT2 Lotus cars, of course) rather than Tony Fernandes' Lotus Racing. Coincidence? Or unrelated? http://blogs.bettor.com/Nigel-Mansel...es-camp-a50301 Last edited by Down F0rce; 12 Jan 2011 at 21:52. |

I was thinking Mansell Senior would have been a good addition to the AMR P1 program. Good for marketing, and for pace if he's over his Zytek crash. But it's probably not happening...

I think the Lotus is a perfect fit for them, as much as I'd love to see them back in a proto. It would ensure a Lotus gets an entry that's for sure. Would be interesting to see how each of the drivers fits into this new driver ranking system. Could they step up to the Lotus LMP2 when it arrives? |

Lotus are supposedly confirming its 2011 motorsport plans today at the Autosport Show so let's see if it will include anything about Le Mans.

Oh well , thats a shame . I was hoping Mansell might try for the hatrick . Indy champ , F1 champ and a Le Mans win under his belt .
Still , be good to have them back with a Lotus . Maybe a P1 in future ? |

Well if he's in a Lotus maybe he should consider the name switch.
But it seems like the previous few posts about trying to ensure an entry to Le Mans won't matter if two Evora's are entered in the ILMC. Hopefully they will be competitive, as they will no doubt keep out some strong GT2 entries. |

Nigel Mansell is now officially an ambassador to Group Lotus. Read into that what you will!

Combined to the fact that Greg and Leo drove together in a Lotus at the Dubai 24h? Mansells in a GT2 Lotus for LM. If Group Lotus doesn't go bust in the mean time.

Greg and Leo have joined a new UK cycling team. Which is slightly bizarre. I know they train a lot with Magnus Backstedt so we'll see how much of their focus this takes up.
