Heard that about Sykes, thought he was more impressive this year than last year & he rode great at Imola. Lascorz has been great on the Kwaka 600 & deserves a crack at the 1000 with the potential $$$ he could bring to the team - i like the idea of 3 bikes...
Think Haslam has an out clause in his Suzuki contract if they dont have factory backing - wait & see on that one... Byrne & Guintoli have been totally outclassed by there team-mates. Maybe its time for them to go... |

Tom Sykes will be on a full works kawi next season.
Paul Bird was at the Croft round of the BSB and said he WILL be on a factory bike with the works team and one of the other 2 riders will most likely be going to another kawi team. Other 2 being Lascorz and Vermeulen. He said there was a chance of Lascorz staying with the team he is with now, and them moving into WSBK |

Good for Haslam. He can get that extra push BMW need.
Alstare announced they will only be running one bike next year. No rider yet. |

Scratch 3 good bikes from next year so far, 2 Xerox, 1 Alstare.
We could see less than 20 full time bikes next year. |

It gets better, reports are saying that Tardozzi has left BMW and wont be Magny Cours.
Also Merigalli is leaving the Yamaha superbike team to manage the Ben Spies factory effort. |

All very interesting actually, they are just pooling resources!
Ducati cant afford to stay in WSBK coz theh money from running a works team will go into paying Valentino, its simple really! No conspiracy there WSBK need to stop playing to Biaggi, wake up and realise they are running out of entries coz the bikes are as complex and expensive to run as GP machines. Typical Flammini really, |

Tardozzi leaves BMW. Italian + German = No Bueno! With Merigalli leaving the Sterilgarda team, I wonder if Tardozzi will end up there. |

Ok, so two days of testing started today at Magny Cours.
Haga will ride for the PATA team next year on an Aprilia. It's been announced that Toseland will be on a privateer BMW team. Paul Bird announced that Sykes will continue with the team, but it's not sure what that will look like. Fabrizio is riding the Alstare Suzuki during the test, but I haven't seen an announcement. |

Cant believe anyone would hire Fabrizio!! That bloke is as hot and cold as antyone I ever saw! More of a Luca than a Bayliss!!
Sykes should be on a factory bike not a satellite ad Toseland doesnt really deserve any ride, so a private bike is as good as he can expect really. |

2011 World Superbike Championship calendar:
27 February - Phillip Island 27 March - Europe TBA (Brno?) 17 April - Assen 8 May - Monza 30 May - Miller 12 June - Misano 19 June - Aragón 10 July - Brno 31 July - Silverstone 4 September - Nürburgring 25 September - Italy TBA (Imola) 2 October - Magny-Cours 16 October - Algarve Kyalami was replaced by... you guessed it! Aragón. Just two non-European rounds would suck. How about a new Middle East round? |

Kawi all in for WSBK. Paul Bird will run three factory riders next year: Vermeulen, Sykes and Lascorz. So does this reflect how much Suzuki spends on Moto GP? They can only afford one bike in each series. Kawi on the other hand will focus on one series. I hope they are successful with the new bike.

For me, Chris is a very good rider, achieved betetr than expected results in MotoGP on a bike that was never a winner
Was always good on a Superbike, but might be a little old school like Toseland, IE, not able to really show his abaility because of electroics Lascorz, well he will eitehr be another Sofoglu, Muggeridge et al or will be half decent. These guys couldnt adapt to a Superbike from WSS, but others have, notably Crutchlow, Laverty and Rea and perhaps Pitt. Sykes, top drawer for me, was rather wrongly replaced after getting pasted by Spies, but was not getting awful results, dont think we really knoew how good Spies was until this year! Superb last year on an old Kawasaki, for him to have been replaced in Birdys team was an outrage, and knowing Birdy he is playing for him himself rather than via Kawasaki! thats the kind of bloke Paul is. |

I think Chris the V has more to show. Too bad he tried to overdue it at Phillip Island, because we missed out this year. He always had good race pace in Moto GP, but was primarily hamstrung by an awfull bike and poor qualifying results.
I don't think Sykes is top drawer. Good yes, a future race winner even, but not a championship winner. As for Lascorz, well he is making a change of classes. Unknown. |

THe thing with Sykes is he was pushing Cal and Leon on the Rizla bike in 2008, and ebating them more oftne than not, only reliability slowed him, so given the right bike and stuff I think he can be a title challenger.
He has won championships in the past. Lascorz has not and Vermeulen only won on a Ten Kate Honda 600, who hasnt done that!! |
