I don't mind Bernoldi leaving, but I don't think PDLR is the best choice... If I was Walkinshaw (and gladly I'm not), I would go for Webber.

Jos needs to sort his attitude out - this season has been a particularly lacklustre one - qualifying 21st at Hungary in an Arrows is nothing to be proud of is it??? His constant moaning about Enrique does nothing for the team. Bernoldi has impressed me this season with his consistency and maturity on the track, and deserves a drive in F1. It would be good to see Mark in F1, I saw him last year at Zandvoort where he drove the 2 Seater, he seems like a nice guy.... |

mr nielsen.
while i admire your defence of your driver, the constant berating of ours without admitting the facts is becoming a bit trying. you are backing up your arguement with a couple of sentences said by jos which were unwise in the first place. obviously jos wanted to unsettle the team, because trying to unsettle enrique that way won't work. enrique is a rookie. jos isn't. any defeats by bernoldi of verstappen at any point this year should be looked upon by fans like yourself as a disaster. stop making excuses and take your fingers out of your ears. (i admit enrique isn't the best driver ever. i think people are still blaming him for de la rosa being chucked out of the team, and they need to stop doing that) thankyou. (with apologies to r for using his very good arguement) |

Like I said Bella: it's not only Jos who said that, it's Walkinshaw and several other teammembers too.......
Jos did'nt say Bernoldi was'nt a good driver, he just is'nt a team player(and this is the first time Jos said something like this about a teammate)...... |

Jos seems to be opening his gob on a regular basis to take the focus away from the fact that he has seriously under-performed this season...

Jos underperforming??
Tom Walkinshaw does'nt seem to think so........ the only thing underperforming at Arrows is the engine(and Bernoldi in some races)....... |

How do you rate Jos' performance at Arrows after the moment Arrows had confirmed (in public) his position for next year? |

After Jos was resigned things were'nt so good for Arrows, Jos is doing the best he can, but with that Asiatech it's very hard(stil Jos managed to get into 2nd place at 2 races, but the differences(BHP) where smaller at the time).....

*Finds Autosport lap chart thingy*
Actually, after half distance, the only car he was ahead of was Marques who'd been lapped about 27 times anyway. He was also behind Frentzen and Fisichella, both of whom overtook him in the pitstops due to his low fuel at the start, which is what gave him such a good start. And only 5 people behind retired actually |

It looks to me as if Alonso completed 37 laps before retiring. As he was behind Jos, and Jos completed his 74th round after Michael finished, I would say that at the time Michael had completed half the race distance, both Alonso and Marques were still driving behind Jos. In fact I did overlook Frentzen, I thought Panis, Trulli, and Fisichella were the only drivers to retire in front of him. But I don't think Fisichella overtook Jos in the pits because of Jos' low fuel at the start. After all, Fisichella did have his first pitstop 3 rounds before Jos did. Fisichella's first stop was very short, forcing him to make his second pitstop 8 rounds before De la Rosa and Verstappen. So I would say the reason he overtook Jos in the pits was simply because of Fichella's low fuel in the second stint. |

In terms of fastest laptimes, Bernoldi isn't dramatically slower than Verstappen. The only races where Verstappen put in a considerably faster fastest laptime, Bernoldi was out of the race early and the fastest laptimes where done late in the race.
In qualifying Bernoldi proves he is nothing short of his experienced teammate. Even his reaction to the lights is most of the time quicker than Jos'. Only if he could find his way thru the first corner as good as Jos. Mind you, Bernoldi wasn't introduced to F1 as The Next Best Thing, and according to Jos and Arrows, he isn't even trying that hard anyway! If you take that in mind and compare his performance to that of his experienced teammate, the guy has done very well. They should keep him. |
