He's a good second a lap up on 2nd/3rd, and 2-3s on everybody else. On his way to a healthy first stint lead.
Mind, Dragonspeed will need that lead when Hedman gets in! Edit - Lime green car in the grass outside T5. Nothing new to see here. |

Freitas seems much more vocal/pro-active than in the last couple of WEC races.

Nico Lapierre even took 2s out of Thiriet on his in-lap (compared to Thiriet's in-lap a lap later)! DragonSpeed's still third after the stop, having a 7s gap to WRT's Will Stevens, let's see how quickly that'll go away |

Mr Freitas should be showing the black and white to Krohn.
Lapierre is doing a great year. |

So in the first two laps DragonSpeed has lost some 15 seconds compared to Thiriet after both have stopped Three laps after the stop, DragonSpeed has lost second to WRT's Stevens. Gap evaporated. |

Stevens passes Hedman, Thiriet only a couple of seconds behind now.
I'm not sure Goodwin & Palmer are au fait eith the idea of "burning" driver time - it doesn't really work if the race is green... Edit - Thiriet passes Hedman and is still catching up to Stevens. The battle of the basically all-Pro teams coming up. |

I'm not convinced on g-drive strategy tbh, forced into an extra stop. Maybe they can build the 60s they need.

Thiriet's past Hedman 5 laps after DragonSpeed's, 4 laps after TDS' stop.
Thiriet's essentially running Will Stevens' times. |

He did hand over the car with a net classification place loss though.
Harsh for Panis Barthez btw, that its P3 entry nearly is (was, P3 stopped) in front of their P2. Paul-Loup, what are you doing? Resident Mike handed the #77 over to Marco Seefried on fourth. |

Partly because Thiriet is just quick (should be a Gold by now), partly because the stuck throttle has cost WRT a lot of setup time. Therefore I wouldn't expect mega-quick times from the Vanthoor brothers, although I reckon they'll both be quicker than Stevens.

That's some faint praise for Hedman from Goodwin!
It makes Hanley's customary last-stint charge up the field very entertaining to watch though. |

Speaking of fourth, @Mike Hedlund, when/if you catch up with this thread, how was your view on you collecting the #4?
Meanwhile, Hedman no match for Rojas, down another place. GG: "vertically challenged Simon Dolan" - lol |

Jota, WRT & Graves pit. Dolan, Dries Vanthoor and Canal in. Thiriet leads by over 20 seconds.
Let's see how Dries does back in a downforce car. Edit - WRT were 2 seconds faster than Greaves and 3 seconds faster than Jota in the pits. Some things never change. |

Shoddy stop for Jota. That's how titles are lost.
I miss last year's Greaves car. This one is super ugly. |

Newcomers to the car and the series, but not to quick pit stops. I don't think it's a secret that WRT want to be able to take advantage of their pit work, hence Vosse's comments about Blancpain and their entry here.
Edit - Dries sets a 2:11 when everybody else is no faster than a 2:13. Silver driver, eh... |

I understand the need for timed stops in am classes. But Blancpain has a pro class. So it's nice to see WRT having a look about for more suitable series.
