Victories split 50:50 is not now and has never been what parity measures are designed to achieve - what the measures ARE designed to achieve though is technical parity and as close as possible an equal opportunity to win across a season and a wide range of tracks, if the driver and team get all their ducks in a row. That is why parity is based on technical matters and when assessing it, all cars of each make (not just the winner) are considered. That way, a stand out driver is not performance-managed back to the field for example - as that would be a success penalty, rather than parity of makes. We've also been to the two most "straight line handling" critical circuits in the country - not unusual for a car that works really well at both of them to not be quite as good elsewhere and vice versa. Throw in wet qual and races and there's another big variable. Looks plenty close to me and naturally, when we have had two stand-out drivers duking it out for the last few years and both seeming to have an edge over everyone else, when one of them leaves the driver remaining is still likely to have that edge over everyone else. |

And previously if you take Scotty out of the equation the parity was pretty good, but that didn't stop Roland from getting his way, although it's most likely too late now that the horse has already bolted.

I'm happy to ignore individual driver performances when applying parity but that's not what happened to Scott. Consistency is paramount, not only for a professional product, but also to keep the crazies at bay - the inconsistent regulatory spanking of fast children only gives the nutters more animation in their fight against Roland's iron grip on the series |

So now they say SVG had busted ribs as well as a smashed collarbone and AC joint.
Saw some footage of him exiting the #97 after Saturday and thought he was in some serious pain climbing out of the car. No wonder. I've broken ribs before and getting up out of a racecar is THE worst. Followed closely by getting out of bed... |

Only watched Channel 7 highlights package from Sandown, but SVG is just in another zone.
Nice to see Brodie Kostecki on the podium. Perhaps for parity the rest of the teams, will be breaking their drivers collarbone. |

Yeah Brodie is a superstar, not like that plodder Holdsworth. Lee only did well because of the super powered mustang. Brodie did well because he is a Brockesque talent who we've seen do well before, nothing to do with the ZB

It never ceases to amaze me that when punters see a driver go well, it's the car, and when he goes poorly, it's the bloke behind the wheel. Unless it's someone they support, and then those rules get completely flipped.
FWIW, I think parity seems about right, but SVG is in a world of his own. And if you cant beat him while he's busted up, then the rest of the season will be a doddle for him. |

SVG is winning. Cam and Chaz are his closest competition but both have failed to finish races, both have had **** strategy calls, and both have crashed, into each other and into other things. You can't create parity around other teams inability to get their **** together. Scotty ran away with it last year and nobody said JACK **** about parity. Nobody. Time to build a bridge. |

Scott 2020 - 4 wins in first 12 races = running away with it
SVG 2021 - 4 wins in first 4 races = parity achieved |

Supercars is not a parity series.

How about all the parity debate moves somewhere else?

If you have that, please share but otherwise, there's no way to hold a truly objective, fully informed view on any need for a parity adjustment. |
