I hope I'm alive to see, if there's another Villeneuve to come!

But back to the topic... if some dare to consider Jacques not one of the best five drivers in F1 today...
In 1997 he was the best driver of the world. He had been champion of both the most important open-wheel series in the world. Surely "doing a Fittipaldi" hasn't further enhanced his tally of Grand Prix wins, but that doesn't mean he's now just another driver. I guess that's why Emerson is never mentioned with the best drivers, because he had a few years in which he could not score or win, but I think that's very sad, considering he won two titles. I'm afraid that's what it is happening to some people, and to them maybe Jacques and Emerson are ordinary drivers, but to me they are Great Champions. |

Villeneuve - the mention of the name just conjures up such heady thoughts in GP racing. His dad was brilliant and I was lucky enough to see him racing in European GPs a few times, and, whilst I can see a little glimmer of the old mans eyes in Jacques, I cant help feeling that todays F1 cars do not help the Villeneuve style of driving . In fact I think that Jacques has probably lost more points latterly driving in a style that, a few years ago, would have reaped many benefits. I love his style (not his hair Style) his panache, his bravado, his never say die style, his willingess to call a shovel a spade, his charge through style, the fact he gave Dannii Minogue a large portion - of his salary - and the fact that he is proabalyone of the last apart from Irv the swerve, to tell it like it is. What a name to be christened with - Jacques Villeneuve - bloody hell you did not even have to be an F1 driver with a name like that - a one circuit FF series would have scared the **** out of them!

We should see the the whole F1 field in McLaren M23s for example... and then we'd saw who'd be fastest
