I like to set mine up, just to see if i can use all my trackside accessories! With several grandstands, pit garages, cross bridge tower thing, Dunlop bridge, people, barrels, haybails, curbs, miles of barriers, and not to mention somewhere to present my cars by the circuit.

Reading this weeks Autosport, i found an ad for Bentley Merchandise.
One of the things on show was a special slot car set with an '03 Bentley, and a Panoz LMP07!
It looked like the track was custom made by Bentley too. Just like the track at LM really, with painted white lines down the centre and everything.

That set is actually made by german manufacturer Carrera, thay have a range of great looking cars, you could probably purchase that set cheaper from your local hobby store or buy the cars only and use on your existing track. The Bently is actually the original car not the 2003 version.

Yep, i realised that when i posted the image
In the mag the pic was so small it kinda looked like the 03 model.

Carrera eh?

The problem is in London, it's really hard to find a decent model shop. The place where my Grandad lives is good, but they only do Ninco, Scalextrics and Fly/GBTrack

They've been out of business for a long, long time. Their stuff was very rugged, and very interchangeable. The cars made today have much finer detail, but of course are much more expensive.

Our club does not allow private ownership of cars (Commies!) but rather they're all club-maintained, and racers choose from the full slate for each race. More details are available at our website.

Ah, it's just the dynamics of the club. We're a social club that races cars and drinks beer, rather than a racing club. The guys are interested in racing, but not in maintenance, testing etc. So we've built up a stable of cars, and there are some who are interested and will do new shells on occasion. We just get together and gab and race.

If anyone wants specific info on Strombecker, I was the head of their factory slot racing team from 1964 to 1968. E-mail me at dretceterini@hotmail.com

The only thing I might ask is where I might get some of the outer 30 degree curves, motors (the square cans) and tires. But I'm sure you don't have any lying around, eh, doctor?

Speaking of track, i have boxes of the stuff in the loft, but it's all standard curves and straights, with very little other peices. I have a few double inner curves and a few short/quarter straights, and a Le Mans start, but only 1 outer curve.

I really wanna get more outer curves, and other less standard parts.
