It isn't a concern at all, this is only to decide the order for tomorrow. They take into account the other sessions more now because of the odd things that can happen (e.g. throwing it off the road on your one lap etc...). Also there is force majeure with the rain.

What we need is for it to rain halfway through tomorrow's qualifying session.

The frontrunners of Q1 will have to start last, remember?
The big boys will be in deep when it starts to rain again in the second half of the 2nd qualifying session! Last edited by ASCII Man; 27 Jun 2003 at 14:06. |

Not much can be read into the second half of this, but ultimately the order for the second session doesn't matter unless it rains or someone drops oil or dirt on the racing line.
Some people's weekends might've been extremely compromised by this. Hopefully Toyota are among them, people who want to see them do well are deluded as to what an awful company they are. Villeneuve hasn't had any luck this year, so some rain immediately after his quailifying lap would be perfect. Good lap by Justin, assuming they were running on similar track conditions, Jos will be worried by that. |
