LMP2 is what I've heard.
How can you not love this? |

I've always thought that Intersport did great paint jobs - always accentuating the distinctive lines of whatever cars they were running.

It was a great looking car, in an odd way – and that, as everyone keeps saying, is what's so great about sportscars, is that the cars DO all look (and sound) different – unlike F1, where if they all raced in primer we'd be stuffed!

I remember well driving along the access road at Donington during a warm-up session a couple of seasons back - where the melbourne loop runs parallel to it but behind a wall.
We were playing the game of guess which car it is, V8 powered Lola, Ferrari 333, Judd engined Domes and Ascaris - It wouldn't have been nearly as much fun with Touring cars or F1!! Last edited by Graham Goodwin; 9 Sep 2003 at 08:13. |

Hi Graham! Just noticed it's Tuesday (see your earlier post). On the subject (tangentially, so to speak) of Lola and MG, is the relationship totally dead? It just occurs to me, having posted a photo on a different thread here a few minutes ago, that there's another MG project that could do with some Lola input. That would be a GT car, of course, but Lola's technical expertise and chassis tweaks might make it a goer.

Hey all
The b2k may not be outright pretty (like the GT-ONE or original Speed 8), but as open-tops go its one of the better ones, and it did start off the pontoon fender design... I thought lola were looking for a tie in with a manufacturer for their next project? Possibly could be the GT project Thumper mentioned. regards Ed |

I hope Intersport gets an invite to LM '04 just for having the stones to drop a Judd in their Lola chassis.
I simply LOVE the sound of that beast...! |

Intersport may not need an invite: they will be at Le Mans for the 1000k...

Unfortunately no, Fab. But I have listened to the Judd in different chassis on several occasions. As you say...LOVELY!

As with everything else, it can get boring if there is no diversity. When the FIASCC still had something that resembled a decent field, most SR1 cars had Judds. The 333's V12 and the big Ford V8 were refreshing changes to the dull V10 routine.

Your point is well taken, cybersdorf, but for those of us on this side of the pond with a lifetime of listening to the discordant notes of American Big Iron, the sound of a small, high-revving, 180° crank Judd or Ferrari is simply sublime.
