well, since youre a racing fan id say ps2. pc perferable ... i love my xbox personally, but, there are no racing games worth meantioning. i only play mechassult, rtcw, and halo ... but, by the way i play them i dont have any time left for any others
 if youve the money ... all three systems have games worth owning |

What if the box could release a GTA spin off in 2004? That, with Halo 2, in addition to XBOX-live which are already in place, would do wonders for the console. As an owner of both I'd say it is technically superior. Enter the Matrix, Rocky and Splinter Cell all play better on the box over the PS2. The box just doesn't have the strength in numbers.

PS2 had GT4, GTA San Andreas, PES3, Medal of Honour: Rising Sun and of course Metal Gear Solid 3, all either exclusive or coming first. Xbox has Halo 2 and that's it, like at the moment it has Halo and that's it.

Hey Knowlesy! I guess then, as a PS2 owner the Xbox only has Halo that looks vaguely appealing to me. The Moto GP series is of no interest to me, the GT series is far superior to Project Gotham, I have a newer and better version of Champ Man for the PC and Mace Griffin is coming to the PS2 at the same time. Anything good coming to Xbox is coming to PS2 either at the same time or earlier and online gaming is of little interest to m (GPL aside) as I'm to much of a casual gamer I guess. I think Xbox is for the self proclaimed "Hardcore".

I'm thinking of buying a Xbox now.
Does the Xbox Live thingy work with my normal cable provider so i don't have to buy too much stuff just to go online with it? Oh and can you play online with Halo?? |

Not with Halo no, but apparently you can with Halo 2. But Microsoft charge an annual fee, which is off putting.

with xbl, all you need to do is sign up and plug your x into your modem and itll auto config. youll need to reset the modem when you go from pc to xbox and vice versa.
if you have a router, you can play halo online with free litle prog known as xbox connect. it tricks your xbox into think your internet connection is really a LAN game. any game with a lan mp mod will most likely work with xbc. 25 different games are listed. http://www.xbconnect.com/ halo2 with be xbl enabled though. xbl is 50 to sign on and 50 a month. its worth it imho. £50 a month on top of your £25+ broadband fee
 As I say, Xbox is clearly for the hardcore, you'd have to get a hell of a lot of hours gaming in to justify that fee.

You can do Halo on Xbox Live... I've never done it, because it costs, but there is the option to play is on Xbox live in the menu screens

its not, the only multi-player options are - split screen, co-op, and lan.
 halo 2 will be nice since youll be able to use covy elites
