In an interview, Haga said he just could not get used to the Moto GP atmosphere (and Michlin tyre as well probably) and his motivation is at an all-time low.
I think it is better for him to get back on a super bike and get his motivation back up again rather than risking another dissapointing season in Moto GP. |

I hope he goes to British Superbikes. I rekon it'd suit him very well - they all use Dunlops, so Haga won't have to worry about getting ****ty tyres, ala 2002. Plus I don't have coverage of AMA Superbikes, and I would miss Haga if he went. At least we have the Spanish version of Haga, Ruben Xaus in MotoGP next year. |

Think one reason why Nori Chan would maybe consiuder racing in BS next year is that Yuki has now been confirmed as racing again for Crescent in 2004.
The two are great mates and I think Nori would love the fans and hte racing over here, the atmosphere over here is far more relaxed and he would be just as at home as Yukio is. Might even strengthen the links between Japanese factories and then UK if a few high class Japs race over here. |

The latest on crash.net is that Fonsi Nieto might step-up from 250cc and drive the Fortuna Yamaha alongside Melandri and in this case Yamaha would be disposed to release Barros for Honda. One thing is for sure Barros' manager will leave no stone unturned to see Alex on a Honda.

At the same time I also heard rumours that Yamaha is massively unsatisfied with the way Barros making statements about them and even if he Barros stays with them they will rather give the seat for Abe.

That's it. I was ambivalent about Rossi's prospects on a Yamaha before, but now I hope he crushes the opposition for no other reason than to make Barros look like a complete muppet for being so fickle.

Barros could do very well considering he challenged rossi on the RCV in 2002. He only had the bike for four races and he challenged him (and won a few i think). He was the best rider on the Yamaha this year.

Norick Abe confirmed on 01/January/2004 that he will be competing full season in 2004 in his official website. Details of which team he will be riding for will come at a later date.

Of interest is what role will Mick Doohan play now that Rossi and Burgess have gone off to Yamaha.
Which of the Honda related teams will be seen by Doohan as the No1 team as 2004 begins and which team will he show early loyalty to? Mike Last edited by mmciau; 3 Jan 2004 at 11:05. |

So that probably means Abe taking Barros' ride? Fantastic to see Norick back in action, he's far too good to sit on the sidelines, and now that Garry's lost out we need more 'never a dull moment' type riders.

I'm sorry but I disagree about Norick, he is another one of these Japanese riders who impresses for a bit and then fades, like Okada, Ukawa, Harada, Itoh, Nakano. They are good but not good enough.
Interesting to see today that Burgess was pushing for Randy de Puniet to have a chance.#I think more teams should look at younger riders instead of taking the safe sponsor or experience bet. Guys like Rolfo, Elias, Vermuelen etc they are the future nopt washed up stars who have had their chance and been droped once already. And as for the earlier post about Barros being best Yamaha rider. How about Melandri, first tiem on a four stroke, half a year struggling to get over injury. And on the pace. Yeah Barros got a podium but was **** most of the year despite being quick last year and in testing. No better than Jacque or Checa in my opinion. Hence why they bust a gut to get Vale Edited as I have received emails about the use of the word 'Jap'. I would advise people to just say Japanese as the other word is offensive to other members. I don't know if you know this or not, but the term "JAP" is described as "an offesive word for a Japanese person" in Oxford English dictionary. So, I advise you or anybody who is to stop using that word. |

I humbly apologise for offending those easliy offended by simple words.
Just quicker to type that's all. Doesn't change the fact that we need some more young guys from Japan who can sustain their form a bit better. |
