Very true. When the car's good, jenson seems to be able to maximise it, but when it's not, he seesm to really struggle. Michael has proved hismelf in good cars, fast-but-awkward-to-drive ones and slow-but-neat ones (notice the distinction), which is why he's among the greats.

When JVill "believed in himself", many of you guys called him arrogant, but when Button says the same thing, he's just being "positive".

About time someone had the balls to stop kissing TGFs ass and consider themselves better. This constant 'Well, I'm only 2nd best on the grid' is a load of garbage - if you don't think you're the best, get off the damn grid.

Self-belief goes a long way to success. For Jenson to believe in himself is just another step towards a long and successful career.

Well its only because JV was an @rse!

Or at least his "I retire if Button beats me" comments were less than intelligent.

Work it out for yourself.

Well it looks like Jenson is the @rse now! This young punk hasn't even won one race in F1 and he thinks he's better then MS!? Give me a break!! At leat JV has won the Vanderbilt Cup (ChampCars), the last Indy 500 in '95 and the F1 championship.

And please don't give me this BS about how Button has turned around BAR with his positive attitude. The only reason BAR is doing well this year is because it took the team 6 bloody years to design a good chassis and for Honda to supply them with a strong and reliable engine!

deeks6 User has been fined for unsportsmanlike behaviour!
The first step to being better is to believe that you are, therefore he should say it. Next step is to produce the goods on the track.

Oh, and wiping his bum with JV does not count...it needs to be someone who's deeds do the talking (MS).

Class act? It must be some other team (is one car/driver a team?) that I'm watching. You are talking about the red cars, right?

Tis quite easy being modest when you win all the races. As for button swinging his jaw, I would be less modest.....how about you?

Hakkinen and in particular Raikkonen have a degree of "class", they both don't brag about **** or talk like JV, JPM, Button or Ralf.
And Hakkinen is the only rival in Schumacher's Ferrari era whom the german himself respected and did so publicly.

He he he

Jenson has a way with words doesn't he? Being blatantly biased for a moment, I think it's nice to see a bit of arrogance from a Brit sportsman for once. And as others have pointed out, there's not much point trying to compete at the sharp end of the grid unless you think you can win. Jenson clearly genuinely believes he has the beating of everyone, including Michael... that is step one to either dominance or embarrassment!

One thing is certain - Jenson's comments show superb faith in BAR and the whole team he has around him. That can only help them strive for even more speed and even better results. Jenson isn't daft - he knows that he now has to deliver, and he also knows that he needs the whole team right there with him.
