It doesn't matter who wins, because people will only come on here and say it should have been Driver X, it means nothing, or its all a fix!
Good luck to them all. |

As Susie was on the short list last year she should not be able to have a second go as she has experience and an edge over the others of driving the F3 car, Touring car and DTM.

Its got to be a fix, half the people in the final have achieved only slightly more than me in racing this year, and i have not even competed.
Its a bit of a billy year. |

A panel of experts.
They're named in today's Autosport magazine. |

And without wishing to be disrespectful - what has Susie really done to be on the list? [/B][/QUOTE]
Finished 5th in the championship, and in front of 20 odd male drivers that wished she was not in thier race. She has the buget to compete next year in either F3, GP2 or what ever, so why give the award to someone that will only compete in a few races. |

No Ryan Lewis??? OK, the class wasn't at it's strongest, but that's not his fault! - And he mixed with the championship guys in difficult conditions at Oulton. I know us Scots are a patriotic lot but IMHO, Susie's done nothing to justify her selection this year.

Personally I don't think she is a worthy nomineee this year (and I am a girlie myself!!) My vote would go to Bridgeman! Last edited by Red Baron; 30 Sep 2004 at 16:09. |

Disagree with that.
Hollings was driving like an idiot at Donington - but I'm sure at the moment of his swerve towards the grass it was irrelevant to him who was in the other car. |

its a disgrace RL is not involved, he drove very well this year. Kennard wont get close he lacks the raw talent, as does stoddart. Mansell is unproven. The only real contenders are the two renault lads and tim.

Hmm, would back Beagle there Emma. Kennard needs a season now of FRen / Scholarship F3, and then maybe this time next year we'll see how he's done.

Oh forgot, susie must be on there because of a government quota to include a token woman for equality.. You watch next year they will have to include somebody from a deprived background.

Don't talk rubbish.
Susie is not there for any quotas. It's good marketing for the competition. There are no "deprived" racing drivers. |

If there was a "government quota" they'd have a woman in it every year
There's no harm in having Susie among the finalists. She won't win, anyway. |

Objectively, a male driver with her experience in this series, in a top team, finishing only 5th, would not get a moment's consideration. What other reason could there be?
And, if she has the budget for F3 (If not the ability) why give her the award, she doesn't need it. Bridgeman should walk it. |

I guess the question is not who should win it, but who will. Basically, the winner will be the fastest person in the F3 car in the 2 runs. I think this gives rather a whopping edge to Mansell, who is used to much quicker machinery and won't be fazed by the F3. Followed closely by Conway, who will be testing whenever there's light in the sky.

I can't see beyond Conway to be honest. I think Susie being in there again is an utter disgrace. No offence to the girl but driving under the same banner as Westley Barber this season she hasn't even come close to comparing with him, not to mention its her third year in the category.
Your right, she won't win but its a disgrace that she's in there and someone like Ryan Lewis isn't! I'm no Ryan Lewis fan in the slighest but he's won a major national title this year..Susie hasn't even won a race! |

KB i think you have had a humour bypass !!. But honestly what is she doing there. It is supposed to be a serious competition for those who have achieved something significant in that year. As has been said, why not Ryan Lewis ?. Also to re state my previous point, Mansell and Kennard will be hard to beat because of there experience in more powerfull equipment.
