Andrew Gunnell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I Second that Mike. With petrol going up, the £4 would help me in a little way in being able to the meeting.

Aren't there tax implications for just "giving" everyone cash? It's pretty close to being paid for a job so there'd be far too much extra admin if everyone got cash. The solution is simple, either stick to the raffle, give us a mininum 45mins lunch break or allow the vouchers to be used at all the food outlets around circuit. As the lunch break is somewhat impossible to ensure (after all it's not the organisers fault when someone throws their car in to the scenery) why not negotiate a deal with the on-site vendors?

Only four people commenting about cash or vouchers!
You can do better than that-let's be hearing from you.

Don/BRSCC

I'm happy just to Marshal anyway but if you insist on rewarding our efforts then I would prefer the money to vouchers.

As an aside.......when at Croft, the meal vouchers are accepted by all of the catering units.

The problem we have at Donington is that many of the Caterers are of the "independant" type who would probably be unwilling to enter into a voucher scheme (unlike Mallory and by the sound of it Croft where they are all under the one umbrella) To have some outlets accepting vouchers and others not, would probably lead to more confusion and problems. At the time we felt the voucher idea would be a little fairer than the old marshals draw as it would give a little "something" to everyone rather than the eight or so cash prizes we used to offer (and yes it does cost us more!)

As a Centre we are aware of the problems at the moment and are working on some ideas to try to get round them or provide an alternative.

In that case why dont you look at the number of marshals that have voluntered then put an equivalent amount into the raffle. Then you could increase the number of prizes from eight or so. £4 doesn't go that far but the prospect of wining £10 or £20 is far more attractive.
