Pingguest should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

That would be nice.

But I don't see a problem. The downforce wouldn't increase massively. I only want to change the way teams create downforce. And with the much wider and softer slicks, the aerodynamics won't be as important as today.

I have no idea about technical side of things, so I'll stick to a points system.

general point scoring will go back to 2002-system. then give bonus points for pole position , fastest lap, most laps led (each 1 point), and .5 points for each place you gain on track (so during pit stops won't count). off course, technical regulations should make passing easier, without reducing safety.

Of course it gives those at the back a little advantage of a new engine. Some might say that was a good thing.

On a more general point. So the FIA have to fine some consensus in the above? It is as bad as getting all the teams together

How i would design a F1 Weekend

FRIDAY

F1 = 2 x Free Practice Sessions - 90 mins each.

GP2 = 2 x Free Practice Sessions - 90 mins each.

9am-10:30am - GP2 Practice 1
11am-12:30pm - F1 Practice 1
1pm-2:30pm - GP2 Practice 2
3pm-4:30pm - F1 Practice 2
_____________________________________________________________
SATURDAY

F1 = 1 X Morning Warm-Up
1 X 1 hour/12 Lap Qualifying Session
1 X Single-Lap Shootout

GP2 = 1 x Morning Warm-Up
1 x 1 hour/12 Lap Qualifying Session

9am-9:30am - GP2 Warm-Up
9:45am-10:30am - F1 Warm-Up
11am-12pm - GP2 1 hour Qualyfying Session
1pm-2pm - F1 1 hour Qualyfying Session
3pm - F1 Single-Lap Shootout
______________________________________________________________
SUNDAY

GP2 Race
F1 Race

______________________________________________________________

Does this sound good to anyone else ?

Those who pay the money to go on Sunday get to see two races, and those who pay the money on Saturday get to see plenty of action !

Your thoughts ?

I like that but what about the other support races such as the Maseratis and the Porsches? There wouldn't be time for them!

As it is, those who go on Sunday normally (if not always?) get to see 2 races (with the support races); and those on Saturday also get at least one race - even if it's not F1, a race is a race!

I think we might as well lock this one, the ideas it contains are fundamentally flawed.

Aerodynamics:
- Sidepod area between the driver and the rear wing has to be flat (so this means banning all those little wings on the sidepods)

Engines:
- one engine per driver for practice (free testing not included)
- one engine per driver for qualifying and race

Tyres:
- Start race with the same tyres used in the qualifying (except weather changes)
- one dry/dry or wet/wet tyre change allowed in the race except punctures.

Refeulling:
- banned

Race:
- Increased race time to minimum of one and half hours (that means about 15 minutes more of Monza action in normal race)
- Increase Monaco distance to 305 kms but keeping two-hour-rule.

Schedule:
Friday
8.00-9.15 free testing (3 cars) for teams who have signed
9.30-10.45 free testing (3 cars) for teams who have signed

12.00-13.00 Free practice 1 (all teams, 2 cars each)
14.00-15.00 Free practice 2 (all teams, 2 cars each)

Saturday:
9.00-9.45 Free practice 3
10.15-11.00 Free practice 4

14.00-15.00 Qualifying (3 laps in the track in each 15 minutes)
15.00 Superpole for top 10 with low fuel

Sunday:
11.00-11.30 Warm up
14.00-> Race

Has anyone else tried to enter the survey that the FIA are conducting at the moment? I tried and kept on getting server error's.

No doubt the site has ground to a halt because everyone is in such a hurry to tell the FIA what a great job they are doing.
