I'm sure I spotted DALY in third on the (first!) grid at Donington in a one-off, after a lengthy lay-off and in an unfamiliar car.
3rd out of 3 drivers on the grid

Don't forget a SoM driver beat all of the NW Pre 1990 lot in the last round.

Yes, best finish to date in SoM being fifth IIRC. And he never even tested at Oulton! LOL.

And, back on budget, I suppose £2.50 is too much if you've only got 10p...

Remember that we have split races at Oulton Park due to the size and in a joint grid Tom would have only been 14th on the grid........

Sorry, Tom is a NW driver. He started with us in a couple of outings in 2003 in one of the only two Reynard 82FFs ever built [either James Weaver's, or Wally Warwick's 82 Festival cars]
BTW Mr S, not an 82 VD as I recall seeing talked about on a website

If you have that many cars in Pre 1990, you would have thought one of the regulars would have been good enough to beat Tom on their home circuit then!

Just because you did you first race in NW doesn't make you a resident of that championship.

And on the 1982 car issue - I am sure you are right and it was only after I got home and played the dictaphone back that I realised Tom hadn't told me the make of the car. So I took a wild guess.

By the way Ian, you were right, he does drive a hard bargain - hence No 1 sons non-appearance. On the other hand, perhaps he was scared of the competition (compared to last year, and with hundreds of laps under his belt, No 1 son is a much quicker driver this season)!!!!!

no 4 - why make comments like that ? just unesassary and makes your view on Jamie like quite biased.

no matter your feelings its pointless making sly digs at a driver who is obviously a good driver who prepares a good car...... I'm a fan of Jamies driving but it would be easy for people to turn around and make comments such as "if he's that good why couldn't he raise the budget for one club level race ?" which on a public forum does more harm than good.

Darcym - it was said tongue in cheek as a joke. We have the utmost respect for the driver in question, both as a racer and as a business man. Apologoies if to all concerned if my comments were misunderstood.
