I am usually a marshal and took time off this weekend to go to the meeting, so am fully aware of what CAN happen, yes if there had of been a major accident it would have run behind, but that can happen at any meeting with a tight or fairly open schedule.

This was not a packed schedule...and to give each of the drivers and extra two laps would have say taken about another 3 mins each...which would have only been about half an hour on the schedule (I can't rememer how many demo sessions there were)!

I know it was Palmers first sports car (I said that above) but they hyped it up so much they could have put him in something better.

We were very lucky with the Formula Ford accident at Paddock. That could have easily been a lot lot worse

I think that it is very rare for virtualy a whole thread to be donated to praising a meeting, very rare for so many smiling faces at the end of a meeting, even if you do lend a car to someone and they nick your trophy ,beat you and nick fastest lap in your class, thanks carrera and everyone, realy enjoyed it.

I love marshalls and they do a great job, etc, etc. But why do some feel the need to think that the world owes them a favour? Now i'm not speaking neccesarly speaking about you two.

Yes I have seen the pictures of that...and saw them cleaning out the chassis in the garages.

The thing is that something like that can happen at any meeting, with most meetings having a heavier schedule than yesterdays. They could have quite easily had longer demo runs.

Excuse me, but what makes you think that I think that I (as a marshal) am owed something?? All of the public that were there deserved to see more of the demo cars then they did.

Is that George Roper in the background?

Fine picture, but what is George Roper out of old sitcoms Man About The House and George & Mildred doing in the background? I didn't know he was a race fan!

You never know what you might see at Brands these days. Sue on a "new" motorbike, a "guard dog" on the back gate, a stolen lorry near the back gate, Pete Thurston changing the livery of both his cars, motorsport news buying the drinks, Barry Lee doing donuts in the pitlane!

The scare of Sunday had to be Andrew Bently's incident at Paddock. You don't collect much less of a FF after an off that's for sure. Here is one of a sequence of shots I have of what happened.

The demo laps were a farce. If you didn't happen to be on your toes, and have a scanner/radio, whoosh they were gone. MN were chasing around looking for pictures of some of the special runs for that reason. Good day never the less.

Trying to work out which piece of car is over the tyre wall...and steaming nicely!

Yes a shock to hear Sam turn down laps!

I just wish to know where you have got the idea that were think were owed something? I don't think that marshals give this impression at all.

If you read some of the posts on the forum, possibly on this thread, you could definitely get the impression that race meetings are organised for the benefit of marshals as opposed, say, to competitors or spectators. Not yours though chezza.

I was that marshal. To say it was busy is an understatement but being single handed was somewhat enjoyable, I wasn't bored. Congrats to all for providing such an excellent weekends racing.

Ian

PS Thank God there weren't any thunder flies about, I'd still be spitting them out.

Found the problem with the Nova.... the oil pump ate it self and jammed the crank D'oh
Not sure if I will get out for Lydden. Also engine mount bust and distrubitor not fitted correctly, so taking the engine out was useful. Lucky it happened in the padock and not at full chat.
