I spoke to a senior CAMS man, at Indy a couple of years ago. From memory the discusion was about categorys in Aust Motor Sport.

When we have International events should we show case our FF, F3, F Holden or put on historics , HQ's, tin tops( V8's-Porsche) little Aussies?
( Yes for entertaiment -but who do you invite for the weekend)

We events are on at regional tracks, do we send the top categories or local clubs to foster the development of drivers, and let those love racing race?

Do we have to many categories in Aust ?

At state level, should we have numerous types of racing?
Is cost a factor as to why we have so many types? ( this has already been raised)

If CAMS was to rule supreme, how would all the Clubs accept it.

I agree with other posts, Cams must hustle along to the 21st Century and do something sooner rather than later.

Your not the only one to have been asked to explain postings on here by the ivory tower citizens.

Ummmmmmm, Back to the Artists formally known as AVESCO with aussie bernie taking his 25% share?

Perhaps someone can shed some light on this....Do all the fines from a V8 meeting go back to AVESCO including the fines from the young men in FF racing with daddy's cheque book or just the V8 Supercar fines?

I thought of another thing today, a prohibition on members of PIARC being employed.

Yes, I understand that CAMS are the debt producers and Debt Collectors for VESA.

Still waiting for someone to confirm or deny that all the penalty revenue from a V8 meeting is returned to the artists formally known as AVESCO for the promotion and or the betterment of the V8 Supercar category.

As I remember, it was Colin Osborne who published "CAMS Beyond 2000" back in 1998 or 1999. The vision on open wheelers was the elimination of Formula 3 and Formula Vee with resources being pushed into Formula Holden ( as it was then) and Formula Ford. Who needs this sort of vision?

Vees have worked out their own destiny with larger fields and 1600 engines. Formula 3 had a 30 car field at the AGP!

and so did the F4000/FHoldens before them.

They always come out of the woodwork for the AGP and then disappear into the ether once a normal round appears on the horizon.

Nobody would bag CAMS if they looked after ALL of their members.

Its like an iceberg, V8 Supercars is the top of it, Club level motorsport holds our sport together, I am more interested in building the clubs at sprint meeting level, the rest will look after itself.

The problem is that Cams do not reflect the views of members or care. They believe they are-- that is the problem. Secondly they believe they are there to maximise revenue. The contribution of members is of no interest . My source is first hand -- this came from the paid hierachy-- so a lot of that is probably news to many who work there. It is not the rank and file performing administrative roles that deserve the criticism-- it is from the President,Board and paid executive . That is the root of the problem.
