juicy sushi should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
i have to say, i think it is unfortunate enge's being released over that. i think that his contact with the risi car at mid-ohio definitely falls under the 'racing incident' category. lime rock is rather different, but the reaction of the officials and PWL over mid-ohio was less than ideal.

i can understand how frustrated mika was over having his race ruined by the PWL car twice in succession, but he really did over react and as everyone else has said, payback on the track is just not acceptable. he should have found tomas later during the race after they had both handed their cars over and then gone at it tracy/tagliani style.

i hope cooler heads prevail at risi and they don't do anything rash, as it would be a same to see a great car not be out there, and provided they stay away from PWL cars for the rest of the season, they should be still favourites to win the GT2 title...

PWL can do whatever they want with Enge, but a 5 minute penalty for a tap on the rear bumper caused from checking up is extreme. Enge should have been given a stop/go and Salo should have gotten the 5 minute penalty.

Salo really got off easy. As far as PWL letting Tomas go, look at it from this point... how can PWL feel they can compete with a driver under as much scrutiny as Tomas is under?

Salo needs a kick in the ..... for blatently admitting what he did . Lots of accidents happen and are onporpouse , but they are not admitted , and are passed off as im sorry .

I dont except any other penalty than massive points loss for Salo and a couple race ban .
Why should any driver feel comfortable racing against him ?

I wish Sean Edwards would comment on this topic .

An unfortunate situation all the way around. I respect Enge and Salo and think that these guys had a couple of bad days where poor judgement was used. In the end I feel like it's PWL loss more than anyone. If/When AMR comes back, that's where Enge will land.

I for one would be interested to know what the Risi team think of Salo's behaviour.

I don't know if AMR would feel comfortable signing a driver that is already on probation. I hope they do come back, and sign Enge but I am not holding my breath on either.

I've just watched the race on Motors TV, I was amazed Enge was even given a penalty when it was obvious for all to see it was a racing incident, unlike Salo's retaliation.

To then read on DSC that Enge has been released from his contract, I was staggered.

There loss, about time he was in a prototype anyhow.

Agreed, it was far too harsh on Enge.

He has always been one of AMR's star players and wouldnt think it would influence Dave Richards signing him up again .

Nope not at all, different team and he's had bad luck this season in general here.

It his is there fastest driver period putting the car on pole more often than his team mates.

He'll be with AMR or just remain in Europe for the rest of the season.

Sportscarguy08 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
All i can say is PWL is loosing a great driver. This year hasnt been easy for him as he is switching from GT1 cars to GT2 cars....

I met both drivers (Salo at Spa last year), both of which are great guys...however Salo isnt someone i would want to mess with in the wrong way. Im surprised Enge didnt see what was coming while passing Salo....in a corner....with himself on the outside of it!

I wish i was going to Spa again this year, as the tension will indeed be very tight with Enge and Salo....I cant wait to cath it on tv!

..Atleast if AMR returns you'll probably see him racing back where he fits...GT1

100% racing incident and no intention to take out the Risi car. Salo's reaction completely out of bounds.... I understand the adrenaline flowing at that moment but you should not comment until you are in a condition to do so.

And here's the difference between the US and Europe right here.

Enge might shoot Salo, however I bet you $100 if somebody spun "Jr" out of say a victory at the Daytona 500, I can for sure tell you somebody would get shot.... Jr Nation can barely stand him being teammates with Jeff Gordon next season.

PWL were foolish to basically hand over their driver employment decision-making to IMSA. They should never have offered to fire him if he incurred another penalty, because if that call by race officials turned out to be a bad one (as it did) they'd be in a no-win situation: either fire a driver for doing nothing wrong, or not fire him and go back on their word...

Agreed, the first hit was racing, Salo took offense to it and punted him and himself out of winning the race.

Flying Lizard are being handed the championship on a Silver Platter if this keeps up. Clearly the Ferrari is the dominate car and Porsche needs another season of development before it can challenge on a week to week basis.

Now let's here some news about a replacement already.... Generac 500 is 1 week from Saturday.

Should be alot of factory Ferrari drivers available since the FIA race is this weekend.

Vilander maybe?

I still say Tuner because he was the last "sub" in the car last.
