it’s the usual, I’d put the fastest driver in at the end and the slowest when there are yellows. One is more controllable than the other. As you say, that leads to slower at the beginning for shorter races.

Most teams have generally done Am first and used their time up early and first caution at their window make the change. Better to use that minimum early and not get caught out not getting enough time and being DQ'd

Yellow for the 91 just straight driving through the Andretti Aston. He then made at least 4 circuits of the track including with the hood up over the windscreen. IMSA needed to call him in for emergency service for that much damage

Multiple GTD teams miscalculated and will have to put the Am back in. Pit stops at 38-40 min not the full 45 for Am min

That was rough on Iribe, car just rotated and then directly to the scene of the wreck.
They still haven't seen what held up the 3 in the pits. Camera cut awau and they were pulling the fuel hose. Heard engine fire and then didn't appear. The other Lexus was coming in then and tight pit stalls it looked like.

Well it was under review but maybe they'll announce a penalty by Petit. It seemed fairly clear from the onboard of the 32 and hearing the impact

Looks like Porsche bought a batch of cheap front drinkers side fender clips. 9 and 92 both having both movement on the clip, 77 getting a little opening of the gap too

As far as All GT races go in the history of the Weathertech series that was NOT one of the more exciting ones. Makes me miss GTLM a ton in fact.

With that said. The 7 races so far this year has produced 7 different overall GTD winners. No repeat winner yet.

Because this is SPEC racing through weight balancing. After PEAK (1999) racing has been slowly ruined year by year in sports cars. Endurance Sports Cars does not exist. Now it's all "safety", "green", everyone gets a medal, PRO AM drivers (whatever that even is), gazillion of classes, advertising mass, watered down racing.

Endurance sports car racing should have been 1 class where you build the best sports car to the rules and you win by multiple laps, not by full course yellow engineered 1 second apart finish.

That also means every manufacture MUST sell the same car day 1, and has to beat a private team in order to win overall. That I would watch. Right now it's all hype.

There is honestly one race on the planet left that fits the description of what you are looking for in an endurance race and that is the N'Ring 24. IMSA, SRO, WEC all of them are marred with artificial means to keep the cars in a pack with their safety car procedures. That is why I did not mind a small grid in the 2020 Daytona 24. That race just had 35 cars and look it few yellows there were and they got the distance record.

back to today. The 2 safety car periods were right at the 2 pit window periods of the race, so there was no real pit stop strategy at all to make it interesting like the 2019 Lime Rock race.

So what we take form that is don't know racing, never actually knew racing but found out how to fix the router and shake your fist at a cloud. We get it, you don't like but it appears more folks do than have in the past so maybe the past wasn't this great idea you seem to think it was

It makes more sense in the N24 and it works perfectly, after all it is more a one off for a lot of drivers. Sadly we can't change the system, but at least it has the desired effect of keeping things close. We don't need to reduce grid size, there's plenty to fight for throughout the field

Indy test complete with 1:14.665 for BMWx2, Caddy, Acura and then Porsche. And GTD with Goikhberg leading the sole GTD Pro Lexus in 3rd

But I did notice the name of the race - the Brilliant Battle on the Bricks Bonanza! If you don’t have alliteration in your race name you’ve failed as a promoter.

Yes seemed a very factual report. By the way I do like the title of the race. Not every one needs alliteration, but it certainly should be considered. I'm sure there's plenty of race promoters who have come up with good ones without alliteration
