Well, we're 9 weeks on from this year's Le Mans and as some will know, I record all the podcasts to listen to in the car on my way to and from work each day. Long gone are the days when I used to have to make an audio CD of each separate hour of the race. This year I had one disk of MP3s for the whole of practice and qualifying and two disks for the race. I finished my first run through the whole thing on my way to work on Friday.
It was really enjoyable, but it was incredibly hard to listen to the last few minutes of the race commentary, bearing in mind that I knew what was coming! I felt the same feelings of dismay even despite that. (As well as annoyance at what went on at the 'start'). I fully expect to revisit the race at least 3-4 more times over the coming months. My thanks go to the whole RLM team for putting on an excellent show again. |

I am still not able to watch the last few minutes of the race. I have pauzed my player just before Toyota lost its drive.

Listening to RLM via the web, every so often it skips back about 30 seconds. Anyone else hearing that?

OK through TuneIn radio app on my phone.
My "problem" on the phone are text messages from someone in the pit lane updating me and briefly interrupting the feed! |

Lol!
Turned off as I would hardly have a chance to do anything on my phone. I kept receiving four notifications for every post at one point. It was very annoying. Although when I checked this out I found it was a problem with the vbulletin software. Someone would post something in, say, the WEC thread and somehow the same post would appear in the Porsche thread, the Toyota thread, and the I'm tired of life thread. I'm worried it will spread to other threads. Often this would then repeat with the same post the following day too. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of the problem. |

The Daren Turner advert is the only RLM advert/trailer/jingle ever that is quieter than the normal broadcast rather then 10db louder.

I think she was even more interested in a gin and tonic.

So the site is reduced right now, and the only available link if for the first portion - clicking on it goes to 30 minutes before race start.

Listened for quit a few hours to RLM, nice and warm arround my ears with this heat and absolutely loved it, great job, great guest.
As a Dutch I do need to say the Jumbo car is not Orange but yellow, not any yellow but Minardi yellow, great story ask Frits van Eerd about that next time RLM. Again great job. |

I lost the RLM web feed 30 minutes from the end of the race, and it never came back (from a streaming link, not from the website).

Having the team radios was a bit pointless because apparently the guys in the booth couldn't hear them, so they always talked over them.

RLM thoughts:
1. They were awesome this year. Great commentary throughout. Everybody on their game. Who was the woman with the glasses who was on there during the middle portions of the race? 2. Sam Collins is black. I did not know that until this race. 3. Paul Truswell is a true endurance geek, the biggest I have ever seen. How does he stay up for more than 24 hours I don't know! 4. RLM must have some sophisticated equipment in their studio. How the heck they get that. I was amazed that Leena Gade came into the studio on her own to check it out because she was bored by the standard live timing, video, etc. |

I agree btw, I absolutely loved RLM this year. It was fantastic. I wish we could get studio cam just for video/sound syncing at every WEC race! |
