Speaking of supporting multiple manufacturers, just wondering if Renault-Nissan would support both GT3 cars, the Nissan GT-R and the Renault Sport R.S. 01 (assuming that it's available in GT3 form)?
On the other hand, Nissan's GT-R GT3 car can't take the competition enough for overall victory in European soil, especially in endurance races like Nurburgring, Spa, etc. |

The Ginetta GT3 has been running in British GT and elsewhere for the last couple of years, with both factory and customer cars appearing. IIRC the factory LNT car has been out in VdeV and occasional GT Open races in Europe this year.
http://www.endurance-info.com/en/mik...e-a-contender/ No FIA GT3 homologation for Blancpain etc yet though AFAIK http://www.racingsportscars.com/phot...-10-06-040.jpg Last edited by KA; 7 Aug 2014 at 18:41. Reason: wrong link! |

GT3 manufactures...
A Ginetta GT3 is planned to race in Australian GT later this year along with a couple of Ginetta GZ50 (I think this is their name-correct me if wrong).

Thanks. That's the car I'm referring to. Supposed to be halfway between GT3 and GT4. Never heard the Zytek V8 in the flesh but if it sounds as good as the Ginetta that was at the Bathurst 12hr this year it should sound good. |

The (Caddy-)plot thickens:
GM told Callaway that they can sell their new C7 GT3 cars only in Europe, so as to not compete against a potential CAddy GT3 in North America. This poses a bit of a problem for Callaway as the development of the C7 has apparently had a number of North American backers, that have to be replaced now. Different company, different mindset. It is a poor mindset though. I don't see what would stop a team from buying a C7 GT3 and then racing it in the US. If it's FIA homologated then it would be legal in PWC. TUSC would probably outlaw it though, just as they did with the Porsche 911. It would be a stupid decision, but right in line with their previous actions.

Well, Callaway wouldn't be able to handle the parts supply either... and with every little part on a GT3 being homologated the team in question couldn't simply manufacture their own spares either. That's also what killed the Marc VdS Mustang-program back in the day...

So this basically mean that if and when the Caddy GT3 surfaces it will not been sold in EU?

Maybe they will do what they have done with the Corvettes, sell off the last years model and let no one buy a current model?

So if Caddy goes gt3, itll be for their own team? The C7 gt3 will have to stay in Europe so theres no in brand competition? Thats how its looking to me.

Isn't the intended customers different between the two brands? Why would GM do this? It will only hurt them in the long run.
