Ok

I thought it was one design, but built by DJR (Ford version) and 888 (Chevy version).

Ares should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

It must take an outrageous amount of time to machine that truss bit in the middle with those little spars!

888 were also the original proponents of those truss-type diff housings that weren't completely necessary either, and sold those at a healthy margin too!

Is it fair that the ability of teams like Tickford, BJR and WAU to do nearly as well with their own solutions and ideas while spending far less money has been taken away in favour of "pandering" to what Larry Perkins called "boltie" teams like Team18 -- they just bolt stuff on and off?

The ability of a Ross Stone to say "those truss diff housings are dumb, they break a lot and need constant repairs, we've modified a standard banjo housing to move the Watts bracket further forward, it's plenty stiff enough, we can beat 888 and Walkinshaw and the teams running truss diff housings no problems" has been taken away. Surely this is not for the better?!

Now not just 888 and 888 customer teams are lumbered with an over-engineered yet under-strength 888 laser cut gearshift tower bracket, but everyone is. Though at least only 888 themselves suffered a failure (or three failures) from it, this time...
Two photos look like something from an 80s Trans Am car, the other from a Hyper car or Gt3 car of the future. And you want to open up the control rules. Erebus are running with T8 at the moment because the cars are the same. Open up the rules, T8 will just move forward faster.

Remove aero from the camaro just like what happened to the mustang in 2019.

Technical parity gives equal chance of winning if all competitive elements are at their best, which is the only time anybody deserves to win.
“Communism” in this context would be fixing it so Brad Jones Racing wins the same number of races as 888.
Relative equality in results between manufacturers recognises the commercial realities of the category.
Having a manufacturer who supplies 40% of the grid win 5% of the races is an open invitation to walk away.

You disprove your own point.

The way you want it a Ford team should win even if they are not as good as a Chev team, and that is exactly the same as saying BJR should win as many races as 888.

The commercial realities are that the manufacturer needs to choose a team that can win.

Other than the Penske period, which is well and truly over, the only time DJR won anything of note since the 1990s was in 2010 when, shock horror, they won the championship IN A 888 BUILT CAR.

888 has been building the best customer cars since the FG. Tickford were not much good at it, DJR were horrible at it. WAU probably the next best.

If Ford want to win, they need to pin their hopes on a team that can win.

Not a listless, leaderless organisation that seems to lack motivation at all levels.

Whether it's Jamie Whincup, Ryan Walkinshaw or Tim Edwards, everybody knows who the team bosses and they set the agenda for everybody in the team?

The loss of Penske and then the illness and retirement of Dr Ryan Story was the death of big success at DJR.

We obviously agree to disagree on this.
Hope you enjoy your one make series with an out of production car in 2025.

Such an intelligent and cogent argument.

Ford has quit many, many times in the past, yet here we still are.

And given that Ford badges are going to be all over the Red Bull F1 car from 2026 they will have no more need Supercars to promote a performance image than Mercedes needed the Bettymobile.

Aero Testing, Transient Dyno Confirmed

Plus new headcount to be sourced to run those programs..

Perhaps this should be one an annual event..

Wonder if they intend hitting a shaker rig whilst there?

Ford aero changes confirmed for the Gold Coast.

I guess this will be the last change for the season and then into wind tunnels and transient dyno testing. I assume that both OEMs are sticking with the same panels / grills etc. for 2024?

What chance Ford gets it wrong again, and there is another tweak/wholesale change for Adelaide?

Don’t know about the good sense - I take anything said by those with vested interests with a very large grain of salt.

I don’t believe that Supercars is tinkering around the edges. Ford called for transient dyno & torque sensors to be the only way to truly measure engine differences & that is what Supercars is doing. No point taking (yet another) guess at needed changes if the comparative measurements haven’t been taken the way that Ford asked for.

I expect that both cars will run as they are till the end of the year & transient dyno & tunnel work will be the methods used to determine any differences & what changes are needed (if any).
