Exactly my point Matt.
The initial accident happened before the S/F line and not at the very back of the field so some drivers had to pass the wrecking cars. I really don't see the difference between that incident and Clint flipping. In my view both should have justified a yellow flag. PS - I have/had no great wish to see Martin win the 500. Would have preferred Tony to win myself but wasn't to be his night. Just glad to see some good racing, but shame it was affected a little by the traditional inconsistency. PPS - much less inconsistent than F1 rule-makers at least |

If the yellow had been thrown the instant anyone noticed an accident, everyone would have already been committed to their line past it. It would have changed nothing safety wise but would have resulted in the wrong winner of the Daytona 500.
