So now the Caddy program won't be announced at Le Mans? Guys, everyone knows you're doing it.

Do GM honestly believe ACO will keep GTE Pro class in the WEC just so that Corvette Racing could participate in two races (at best), possibly racing on their own?
Also, if SC356 is to be believed, GM is planning to continue running the grandfathered GTLM car in IMSA way beyond 2022 and avoid developing a true GT3 version at all costs. Otherwise why would they be worried about GT3 coming in 2023 or 2024? |

Hmmm, a close working relationship between Proton and Multimatic. Porsche LMDh on Christian Ried's radar?

The man does collect Porsche racers and I think Porsche's goal is factory and privateer teams.

Imagine in 10 years time someone like Koenig making LMDh-based road cars out of privateer racers?
Totally implausible, I know. Times have changed. |

Yeah, Ed Brown's garage somewhere. It wasn't ever a Nissan product in any way, hell they didn't even pay for engines for them. It was Ed's project and Patron advertising

http://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/0...-whos-out.html Turns out it was Nissan that acquired a P2 chassis! Lots of other good news bits in this piece too. Some of them are known programs but others are less certain. |

2024 is going to be biblical man!
I don't see how LMH manufacturers won't start bringing in third cars too to combat the hoards of VAG LMDhs. Going to be many bullets in many guns for the big races like Le Mans. They absolutely should push back the hydrogen regs intro by a year or two IMO. |

Cadillac confirms IMSA and WEC. Two days after Le Mans.
http://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/0...a-and-wec.html Weird timing but we got there in the end! |

Any more news/rumours on Hyundai? We know they've committed to the new 2022 WRC regs......one of only 3 makes. Surely the WEC is were all the manufacturers are - and the place to be.

I'm fairly positive they did not want to wait and when Alpine announced they were going to (not) announce I guess, Cadillac had no choice but to wait. It really feels like they were ready and wanted to press at the event but knew Alpine would get all the French press.
More interesting is ECR being left out, wonder what/who it will be. |

New rules. New manufacturers. The 2021 and beyond positivity thread!
I didn’t realise Cadillac ran a LMP in 2002 and I would only associate them with GT at best. But hey shows what I know about them

Is a full WEC programme a bit of an assumption at this stage? Can't really find any quotes beyond them wanting to do Le Mans.

Sadly I think we're due a smaller capacity turbo in keeping with their street cars. Marketing tells "regular folks" many things we know aren't true but sells well so it's "just like the ATS/CTS-V engines" guys, honest |

Or maybe 3 entries requests will be filed, who knows at this stage, it's really early days when it comes to the 2023 entry list. Guessing 62 entries again, when is the new pit building planned to be built? And what was WEC's self-imposed entry limit again? |

I meant 3 would be filed, previous statements about driver scouting made it sound like Ganassi was going for 3 cars, and AXR 1. But yes, still early enough that all hell could break loose and numbers change but I'm guessing some LMDh and maybe extra LMH cars are gonna be left out or have to be full season WEC runners to get in the 62.
