Superb colour scheme - I thought last year's cars looked great, but those are stunning!

You mean the support engine engineer and engine mechanic or do you mean the fact they are wearing branded Toyota jackets?

No, actually the photo has been unintentionally reversed in the uploading process. Those are people from Atoyot, makers of model boats who are minor sponsors of the team this year......

Darn Toyota, that GT-One was something else in its time. Well, at least they topped the time sheets in todays test.

It's been up for a while but this is an interesting interview with Bart Hayden and discusses how the Toyota deal came about.

My guess is Rebellion/Lola have incurred the costs, unless the update is available exclusively to Rebellion, in which case Rebellion alone will have incurred the cost.
I don't buy into the theory that Toyota money is directly being spent on anything other than engine supply to Rebellion. Indirectly, however, the savings Rebellion are making as a result of Toyota's generous terms (for the supply of engines) may well have freed up a chunk of Rebellion's budget to spend on development such as this (that may even be part of the agreement with Toyota). |

There's never been any credible evidence Toyota's involvement was anything beyond engine supplier.

They can't blame people for speculating though. Especially when they go to lengths to disguise their involvement with the TMG tag.

The general audience does not know what this abbrevation stands for. It would be much more clear if there was Toyota in big letters on the engine cover or the rear wing.

If Toyota wanted this to represent them, they would either chose a huge sticker on the car, or a smaller one, kinda like engine manufactures normally has. With the TMG sticker it's kinda a midway of the two, and can at max, be seen as an toe in the water for a possible future project. |

I was under the impression Rebellion went looking for the engine deal when in fact TMG consulted Lola for a suitable team. Hayden goes onto say they want to develop into a Toyota factory supported outfit in the manner of Joest Audi.
Did TMG run KERS in F1, Hayden says they are looking into this area too. |

I believe that Toyota developed a KERS solution for the TF109, but they never race with it. In the off season between 2008 and 2009 Toyota was quite vocal that the F1 KERS rules were unrelevant for hybrid road cars.
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinetic...covery_Systems Ferrari, Renault, BMW, and McLaren started the 2009 season with KERS, but BMW and Renault stopped using it during the season. |
