A second season of the INDYCAR iRacing Challenge, will start Thursday, March 18.

I quite enjoyed last year's races, so looking forward to this season before the actual IndyCar season starts at Barber.

Yes, I realize it's been older than that and famous as a Chaparral with Rutherford and more recent but for me it's Mears coming home from the town Memorial Day parade with belly full of cheap hot dogs and Acme sodas.

RH-R's top speed of 222.442 mph (357.985 km/h), is up on Sato's pole from last year of 220.250 mph, (354.458 km/h)

Last season I tried to watch IndyCar on Claro Video. It required a Claro phone service, so I borrowed my brother's account.

On top of that I has to buy an IndyCar season pass. I tried multiple times, but the transaction always failed.

Every day I miss IndyCar on ESPN with Andrés Agulla and Alex Pombo...

Pretty fun article to read, there is just so much talent that I doubt we will see somebody like dixon dominate a stretch again. Oh and his pick for champion will be either O'Ward or Herta.

According to this entry in Wikipedia, Jules Goux reportedly consumed four bottles of champagne while driving in the Indy 500 and was later quoted as saying, "Without the good wine, I would have not been able to win."

Definitely an interesting anecdote. Jalopnik's take on it:

'The conclusion, based on a variety of opinions, including from some who were there, is that champagne was indeed consumed, but in restricted quantity. The containers were small 'half-bottles', containing just under half a pint each, and it is believed that Goux requested one on four of his stops rather than on all six. While Goux and [riding mechanic Emil] Begin apparently did finish all of the first half-bottle between them, the other three occasions merely consisted of either just a swallow or two, or perhaps mere use of the champagne as a form of mouthwash.'

A bit of a suprised. Would nice to see a young driver alongside Pagenaud, Newgarden and McLaughlin.



In IndyCar there are a lot of long-time drivers for the same team:
- Scott Dixon at Ganassi since 2002!
- Will Power at Penske since 2009
- Ryan Hunter-Reay at Andretti since 2010
- Graham Rahal at Rahal Letterman Lanigan since 2013


In Formula you only have Hamilton at Mercedes (since 2013) and Verstappen (since 2016) with long stints. Leclerc has a Ferrari contract until 2024.

I guess with Dixon, there is no need to look for a replacement, he keeps winning! He has averaged a championship every 3 years since he has been with Ganassi, that is not bad.
