So the 31 a little bit quicker than the 7 but the difference is very subtle. As for BMW, last year they were 15 laps down, this year 13 laps and the pace wasn't too strong.

Surprised by the level of attrition and poor reliability in GTP this year, compared to last year when they were brand new and untested.
Entertaining race all in all and was not too upset by the customary last hour full course yellow to bring the field together for a late sprint as the cars were quite close to each other so I did not think it influenced too much - maybe gave the 7 the chance to leapfrog the 31 in that pitstop - but even that was a strategy move that was in the making hours in advance as they were always pitting 1 or 2 laps later than the 31 Surprised by the lack of pace of the 6 porsche at the end after the final restart. |

Broken rotor and they had to manage an ABS issue for the rest of the race. https://www.dailysportscar.com/2024/...t-daytona.html No mention if they could change the tire though. |

We were lucky that all these problems didn’t cause more yellows. |

Is there any way to find out who did what in terms of hours and stints in each car?
I did not see or hear about Button at any time? Presuming he stinted at night |

Yeah, he was let loose during the night and had a fairly messy stint. There were a few moments of contact with other cars, including one with the Pfaff McLaren at Turn 1 if I remember correctly.

The contact included a relatively lengthy and very smoky burnout, presumably done with IC power as I'm told that helps warm up the tires.

IMSA puts out a press release to add no more information about why we got an early checkered flag:

26:40, there was contact even before Turn 1 between these two. |

And some find from someone who was "scanning the race control channel at track".

Some good context here around Porsche 6 car issues and the Acura lack of pace. Also some interesting info about BoP for Le Mans:
