The stewards in this race have been VAR-esque. How on Earth has Intereuropol been given the fault when WRT clattered into them?

#51 has lost fourth gear
Why wont the TV director stay onboard with #51? Its like they wont show the problem Last edited by tux; 12 Nov 2022 at 17:28. |

Cairoli now ahead of the Iron Dames, but it looks like the car would revert to being slower than 85 when they revert to a non-platinum driver.

Pro and Am drivers are scored together in the championship. Commentators are saying they just need to finish the 51. But if it loses enough time, won't it lose even more points to the Ams?

They look to be at least two laps ahead of the leading AM, so maybe that's enough. Commentators have just caught up with you

Just to clear up the confusion here.
The Am drivers score in the Drivers championship. The Am teams do NOT score in the Manufacturers championship, but they DO displace teams in the Manufacturers championship. |

At 10 seconds a lap, they lose a lap every 12 laps.
12 laps takes 24 minutes. At an hour left it's around 32-34 laps. So they stand to lose around 2.5-2.8 laps, ish. |

In AM I think #46 has to come in real soon now to give Pedersen enough drive time before the end of the race, so then it'll be up to #85 to catch it for the possible class win.

Also isn't there politics in Porsche? Both cars can win the title - but the 3rd placed title Porsche is ahead of the 2nd placed title Porsche. Porsche could help their chances by switching the cars - but you're asking 1 car to defo lose the title, for another car to possibly win the title.

With Toyota, and/or Glickenhaus, and/or Alpine, and/or Peugeot, races have been pretty boring. Hoping we're not heading toward a big anticlimax in 2023...

Yes, fingers crossed all the hope and expectations for next year's competition doesn't turn out to be false, otherwise the series could struggle to keep interest from other manufacturers and constructors

After 5 years (4 seasons) of a top class on life support I think we're all ready for something better, starting next year. As an endurance fan you've got to learn to take joy in certain scenarios which many wouldn't bat an eyelid at. And that is what has kept so many going.
Now we're due something to truly shout about and it's coming - on either side of the Atlantic. |

It's been a fallow period for sure. Let's hope next year's crop tastes as good as it looks.

I mean I really want to know what the engagement has been for some races. We used to have threads for each round of the WEC but lately, each race is lucky to get half a dozen comments in this thread.
Fair play to the series and Toyota for keeping the series on life support, but it has all been bare minimum. There's a lot of work for the series to do to get give the 2023 season the momentum it deserves. |

More chance of pigs growing wings and taking to the skies than the FIA letting a 6 year old Rebellion win the world championship, I’ve always liked Toyota since they stepped up to the plate sooner than planned when Peugeot pulled the plug last minute but roll on 23’ and some welcome competition

i watched quite a bit of the bahrain round but as mentioned the lmp2 and gt classes were of more interest and that is not good news for any race series. But 2023 will be a different matter TBH the top class will be for the first time in many years where i will be watching with intent.

The top class racing really does need to deliver in WEC. Not least as it seems the intention by 2024 is to have stripped away three of the current five classes. To be left with just two.
At least currently you've got different battles to watch and storylines to follow. But if like me you mostly enjoyed Bahrain for the P2 and GT-Pro action, that's all going to disappear. That's not to say I'm not in favour of prioritising the top class. But like we've all said, the racing HAS to be good. |
