I'm not aware of his karting history, but to be honest I haven't seen anything that makes him stand out as exceptional. I wonder if Rosberg is seen as better than he is, because of who his father is. Much the same as Nelson Piquet or Jacques Villeneuve. |

I think Rosberg is good, possibly ,very good, and possibly better than his father.
He was very quick in karts when he was teamed with Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren-Mercedes backed kart team and at that point you would have thought there was very little to choose between them. |

Well Schuey was making himself look like a rookie today. He could not get as much out of his tyres as Rosberg, something a rookie would struggle to do. Got swallowed up by rookies/young punks in STRs and Force Indias. He was made to look like a rookie with his chain being yanked by the amount of times he did a Webber and did too uch underbrakes and missed corners
Hopefully it is just another bad weekend and he can improve soon. Otherwise surely Heidfled is itching to be given a chance. Though that will never happen as that would be a PR disaster for Mercedes |

When Schumacher has bad weekends like this, he tends to make a catalogue of errors. It's not new, but combine this with his lack of pace and you have this bizarre situation. Bizarre because Michael Schumacher has never before struggled with Formula 1 for any length of time.

Yeah Nico really showed up his illustrious team mate here. Not being on the pace is one thing, but Schumacher was the most dangerous driver on the track today bar none.

When he did this sort of thing during his golden years, opinion was always split, but not now. It shows how far his star has fallen.

He was desesperately trying to look for Jacques Villeneuve to crash with. Sometimes I even thought he was going to crash with Gilles statue.

Michael was at his zenith when he was able to run at maximum pace ina series of short sprints with a car optimised for maximum performance. That is no fuel worries, no unnecessary weight, superb handling, and a new set of tyres of the most appropriate compound. I always thought that Grand Prix driving was traditionally about more than just going fast. many of the great drives involved more than just speed, they involved tactics and judgements, the ability to conserve the car etc. Michael has a different task ahead of him in 2010. And its not as easy for him as it was 10 years ago. Yes he is a great driver but has this year has highlighted some of the short comings in his repetiore that were masked in earlier years (1995-2005)? I think that he now has a lot more to deal with than just driving fast, and maybe its beginning to show. |

masked his shortcomings?
umm isnt this the guy who drove over half a race stuck in 5th gear after being told on the radio its hopeless he then changes his lines on the track until he can find a way to set competitive laptimes? the man is supremely talented no doubt and i would guess knows more about F1 cars that any other driver on the grid right now and what it takes to make them faster but of course if your asking has he lost his talents with age thats open to debate but i would love to see how he would be performing against nico if they both drover say a redbull or a car that had very few issues with performance ect |

I felt embarrassed to be watching TGF in that race. Horrible.
I think he should stand down and let someone decent have a crack. |

It wasn't that bad a race from Michael. The incidents weren't too clever though.
His start was lightening, making up a lot of places, and the decision to run the softs for so long in that last stint was a mistake. |

I still think he'll get it together and become a competitor with Rosberg, but I may be in an ever-decreasing group of those who think that.

He managed to get to 4th from 13th after 9 laps (less than 5 seconds behind the leader). That wasn't exactly too awful.
What really screwed his race was when he had to make two stops in the space of a couple of laps (the second due to that off he had - so a self-created problem, certainly [in part, at least]). That incident with Massa was bad because he ended up hitting Massa, but the line he used wasn't really any different to what drivers regularly use in defence going into that turn (rather less extreme than some cases). It wasn't a very good performance for the fact he made way too many small errors, plus running way too long on the softs. It certainly wasn't a stunning showing, but I don't think it was totally and utterly hopeless. |

Very true, it was not totally and utterly hopeless, it was simply hopeless
And his race fast lap time was abysmal. In qualifying he was clearly over- performed by Rosberg, in a Michael favorite track. A bad weekend, the face of Norbert "Manager" Haug told everything. |

Nick Heidfeld must be wondering what the hell is going on! Embarrassing to watch and he's just as stubborn as ever.
