I really wish we had a stand alone TCR series in the USA, instead of TCR being a category of something larger. Touring cars in this tradition are very much their own thing, imho. The TCR's look great!

We also had TCR Denmark last weekend on the Streets of Copenhagen. Surprisingly enjoyable for touring cars on a street circuit.

The Danish series seem to be going strongly enough. Managed to get itself a good calendar and picked the right circuits and keeps the racing exciting

IMSA don't seem to care about it. It's not high on their priority lists

It's a nice looking car, especially in de Toyota Gazoo livery. On short term their focus is on TCR South America, but it would be nice to see one or two cars in TCR Europe next season. |

Niels Langeveld is the new TCR Italy champion.
The last weekend of the season wasn't without controversy. After the finish of race 1 Salvatore Tavano (Langeveld's rival for the title) hit Langeveld. For that action the Italian got a 10 second penalty. In race two Tavano crashed. See here for Tavano vs Langeveld: https://youtu.be/gk20mqepCdk?t=3542 Why was Tavano mad? |

They had an accident in qualifying which left Tavano 11th and Niels in 1st. Tavano tried to appeal the accident but got nowhere and seems the red mist descended when he saw that Niels then won race 1. What a bad way of throwing away a title, but congrats Niels nonetheless, that was a fun season.

Does Finland have so many tracks?
I am afraid total entries will be low. |

Fabricio Pezzini (Lynk & Co) got crowned as Champion in TCR South América this weekend, on the San Juan Villicum Circuit, after a 4th place on the 1st race of the weekend.
The first race was won by Barrio in the Corolla TCR, that seems like a weapon, with Reis and Llaver arriving 2nd and 3rd on a pair of Cupras. The second, kinda messy, race ended with, second place in the championship, Rosso victory, in a Civic, followed by Barrio, in the Corolla, and Llaver in a Cupra. It was a nice championship, with fairly good races. I wish Llaver came back for next year, so he can race freely. |

I have only watched some races but one of the things I liked is the diversity of the gird.
The Corolla looks like a good car. |

Are track limits not really a thing for South America? Just watched the highlights and it seems they all use any bit of run off area as part of the normal circuit

It depends on the series and racetrack. I'm pretty sure this is discussed in every briefings.

San Juan Villicun is mainly a bike track designed for WSBK, so the run off areas are kinda weird for the cars, there are/were various problems with that circuit and the argentine series, TC2000 in particular had a big clash with some drivers, that ultimately ended with Rossi leaving the series (and kinda giving Toyota an excuse to go to TC) Next the Top Race had track limits loosened, and TN has them implemented again (as of last year race) but since the cars are less powerfull and light, there is less problem. Thats the ACA CDA side of things For the ACTC side, the track limits are as loose as it gets for that circuit, same as Top Race, taking into account the size and weight of the cars/trucks. This same debate is done after every race on this circuit, always. |
