LMAO the 5 gets five seconds added to their next pit stop. These guys failed to serve the penalty properly!?

Also JOTA with a drive through for taking out their own P2 car

#6 and #7 doing 1:31s on nearly 1 stint old tires, good battle

Vandoorne is a good choice for Peugeot. Now Adam is sleeping, RC abuse of penalties for track limits is obvious… Please, not a word!

A pitty that the Caddy spent so much time in the pits whatever the reasons (at least one DT). The team manager must know his way to find the RC office (2 immediate convocations in a raw!)

There you go! Two Toyotas, # 6 Porsche Penske and the two Ferraris. Disappointing Peugeot's to say the least. Results subject to change, 13 cars being under investigation for violation of the FCY rules… No Toyota involved.

In the end Toyota wins but they had to fight for it and that battle for the lead between Estre and Lopez was great. #6 best of the rest, sadly Ferrari, Cadillac and Peugeot showed nothing (other Porsches as well due to penatlies, failures, etc.). Good race overall.

But how did one Ferrari reach 333 kph? That's nuts. Kobayashi would probably lap the entire field if he could do all 6 stints himself.

For what is obvious, at least for me, only one car was really faster in the long straight, t'was #50. When the batch were doing c 310, this Ferrari was above 330 kph.

Well done for the Ferrari max speed, tomcug, you beat me to that! Didn't the #7 lap the entire field?

Unless it's some error in timing, we have a new speed trap record. Previous was 325 kph by Ginetta LMP1 in 2019.

I don't fully agree that Cadillac showed nothing. They had the pace, at least during the first hours, but two many pit stops plus DT wrecked the result. The top oil thingy again?

Let's put it this way. They had potential but didn't have execution and luck. All combined they finished many laps down.

Talking about Ferraris, did you see that the fastest on the #50 is Molina (and not Fuoco) and James Calado was faster than his two team mates of the #51?

Sorry for responding after hours but I needed a break after the race. I calculated the data for the Ferraris, obviously excluding invalidated laps, SC, FCY, in-laps, out-laps, etc.

Driver Fastest Top 10 Avg Top 25 Avg Total Avg
Fuoco 1:31.349 1:31.492 1:31.693 1:32.213
Nielsen 1:31.319 1:31.624 1:31.858 1:32.367
Molina 1:30.967 1:31.590 1:32.107 1:32.953
Driver Fastest Top 10 Avg Top 25 Avg Total Avg
Pier Guidi 1:31.611 1:31.842 1:32.000 1:32.513
Calado 1:30.918 1:31.564 1:32.045 1:32.698
Giovinazzi 1:31.661 1:31.921 1:32.072 1:32.510
I know presentation is poor but I have no idea how to split these tables into proper columns despite multiple attempts Okay, the fastest times are set by starting drivers for both cars and indeed there is quite a difference there for the 51. However top 25 averages are quite close between drivers for both cars, especially the 51. Now back to the 333 kph thing, it happened on lap 225 and it's quite stunning as no other car broke even the 318 kph barrier. What kind of a last corner exit and tow did he get to go that crazy fast? And what's even more interesting, it doesn't look like it translated to any fast times in S1 or S3 but it was late in the race so maybe that's why.

So... Has Porsche finally gotten it's sh*t together? Certainly looks so. For one thing, 2024 WEC is about to have some amazing racing.

Imagine the 4 H of Fuji? They fixed almost everything, not surprisingly. This is Porsche.

I think that the Caddy team manager had to explain to the RC why the car lost its FL wheel. Was not really clear but the wheel nut was missing when the car went back in the pits. You confirm this?
