Some great pictures of cars people memorabilia et al so thanks Bob. (and Peter.... wonderful pic of a much adored Alfa Giulia GTA in post #527).

I note in post #523 that, as well as a gentleman jumping naked into a icy lake, there is also a photo of a Le Mans 1955 ticket.... I also am aware that our very own Bauble, then a tender aged and untravelled 17 year old, was at that fateful meeting that year. For those that might not have seen it there is a very good article about '"Our Bob's" trip to Le Mans that year, complete with photos and an account of Bobs memories.
You can read it here: https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...-le-mans-1955/

I will add that although Bob's photo appears in the article there are other even more unpleasant images regarding that weekends tragic events, so fair warning. None the less, a good article well worth reading if you have not already done so.

Malcolm Smith should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Great photos, as always in this thread, especially pleased to
see the saloons in post #526. Have seen most of them on
track in the past, shame they are not a regular sight at
HRDC or HSCC nowadays.

Ni9ce selection again, Bob.
What's the car in pic 2 of post 534? Is it the Lister Monza car?

I think the last pic in post #538 is a Cooper Jag. Always thought it an odd looker, but certainly its quirky. I quite enjoyed those not Bobs 'Cup of Tea'... I think F3 from the seventies although a couple of later ones there. Used to enjoy watching F3 back in the day.... Ta

I think that the Cooper is the first Jag engine car, made for Peter Whitehead, if memory serves, I remember seeing it in the Goodwood Nine Hour race in 1955 driven by Tony Marsh and Lord (Waller?)

Certainly did, cycled half way home and caught a train to London, and rode to Barnet.
As delta would say, Happy days!

The last original ,[ that I know of ], sold for £17.5 million at auction , so that might well be one of the replica cars that I helped to build with these people.

As you were involved with ASM, you may like to know that at least one of the replicas is in road use - this was at the VSCC meeting at Mallory Park today and is shown on the DVLA as an ASM
