All it does is give F1 drivers the opportunity to race in the 500, when they didn't have that opportunity before. Alonso wouldn't have had to drop Monaco in 2017.

As for oval experience, Alonso didn't have any until he underwent the Rookie Orientation Program that all drivers, who are competing in the 500 for the first time, have to do.

Good to know SRX championship takes precedence over Indy races. Ok, yes that's being a twit but yes, Helio will run SRX instead of extra races with MSR after the 500 win cause budget.

I can't say I'm surprised, as the article says: ''the budget for Belle Isle was never part of the plan.'' MSR announced a six race IndyCar program from the outset.

Fully expected the program wouldn't change even if he wasn't running another series, contracts and plans were set with the budget previously verified, adding money wouldn't necessarily add races. Plus some of MSR's crew is likely busy with another car that weekend

Surely this is driven by Zac Brown, also Liberty probably like the idea of F1 drivers getting more exposure stateside. Norris or Ricciardo in Zak’s cars for the Indy 500?

It might be driven by Zac Brown but I think more importantly, it gives drivers from other series the chance to race in other events and venues. That's got to be good for motorsport. A number of IndyCar drivers compete in Le Mans.

I always thought Bernie did motorsport a disfavour when, for the first time in a long time, Le Mans 2016 clashed with the 2016 European Grand Prix, (the first GP to be held at Baku), denying Nico Hulkenberg the chance to defend his 2015 Le Mans win, which he achieved at his first attempt. This lead to accusations that Formula One Management had deliberately scheduled the race to conflict with Le Mans and prevent Formula One drivers from participating.

Interesting to see that. No mention of whether that means Fittipaldi is out for that race or whether Coyne will field three cars.

I hope that Gateway ends up being a double header weekend.

A broken collarbone can take about 6 to 8 weeks to heal in adults, which means he will very likely miss the race at Mid-Ohio on July 4, as well.

You Americans ride cars instead of bikes. Here in the Netherlands kids ride bikes when they barely can walk.

Most drivers will do training on road or mountain bikes.

Van Gisbergen won three out of three at Sandown three weeks after he had broken his collarbone so there's still some hope Van Kalmthout can drive at Mid-Ohio.

And you probably enforce the laws to protect all not literally violate my rights because a fat guy squeezed his ass into a bike team racing suit and then hit me because he didn't believe stop lights apply to douchebags on bikes. FYI, in every state in the US traffic controls apply to bikes like it does cars. Yeah, I'm still bitter. Oh, I won but only because I was judgement proof making no money and a student.

I can't imagine the forces involved driving after a broken collarbone! I know moto riders frequently get back on the bike quickly after broken bones too.

Just a shame for VK since he is doing so well in the championship standings!

Oh no, it's a daily occurrence here and often with bicyclists then suing after they were found to be the guilty party. There are multiple bike lawyers who's only cases are suing drivers and usually lose but cost you thousands to defend. Asked a lawyer friend, 56k cases currently in the courts for bikes suing to get more money after insurance settlement, that's BS.

And blaming douchebags on bikes doesn't mean there aren't any in cars. And calling douchebags, douchebags didn't mean there aren't people doing the right thing, in fact there are 2 lawyers doing pro bono to defend from The Bike Lawyer, yup, that's his practice name. But you run a red light and hit me in going to make sure I get my money's worth now. Set off my city car camera today with 3 who ran the light because they wanted to on a major road. Followed by a car of course because of they can why can't I.

Back to Indy, Felix is out and KMags will get his time in an Indy car.

Magnussen now subbing at ASPM! That makes 3 subs for the best race track of the year, yes Road America is the best race track in America. I haven't been to an Indy race there in 30 years or so but would love to see the modern cars around there!

Who is the 3rd? Cody Ware is in an additional car, not replacing RG, right?
