ATF should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Does anyone know when we're going to find out any more news on the WSR line-up? I'm so eager to hear who the drivers are!

Also Luke Hines has been testing a GT car (story on crash). I could only see him realistically going to TD or WSR - maybe he won't be in BTCC 2006 at all!

agree there mate, Hines is/was only into the BTCC due to his Daddy having more money than sense as per Gavin Smith. Rather see guys with real talent like Turkington, Eaves and a young guy from Kirkaldy by the name Jonathan Adam won the cliocup in 05 and in with a good shout of the Seats in 06 only thing lacks money. All the talent but not enough of the folding stuff

I agree that Luke Hines was only there for one reason, and will be no loss.

However, I've always been undecided about Dan Eaves. I've met him on a number of times, and he's come across as a thoroughly decent chap. I remember congratulating him seconds after his first independent win in the 307, and straight away he said something about the next step being the overall podium. I felt as though he had the hunger - something I can't say about Luke Hines! In 2004 and 2005 Dan has been in a good car, and unfortunately hasn't stood out (apart from his triple at Thruxton). I know those Peugeots stopped him from shining, but those Hondas were fast!

Is it fair to suggest that Dan's a journeyman like Luke?

If you were calling the shots at TD or WSR, would you really choose him over, say, any of the best Clio drivers from recent years? Or Gareth Howell? Or Anthony Reid?

Daniel Buxton was one of the best Clio drivers from recent years - he was Eaves' teammate for a few races in 2003, although I can't remember how he fared against him.

just done a bit of research, i thought buxton was only teamate for a few races as well but it was infact half the 03 season.

round / eaves / buxton
round 11 6th / 12th
round 12 dnf / dnf
round 13 dnf / dnf
round 14 12th / dnf
round 15 12th / 15th
round 16 11th / 14th
round 17 11th / 13th
round 18 14th / 15th fl to buxton by 7 tenths of a second
round 19 11th / 14th fl to buxton by 1 tenths of a second
round 20 9th / dnf

its difficult to judge but seems to be after a unlucky / bad start he began to be on equal terms with eaves, finishing in similar positions with the same or quicker fastest laps which is not mean feat considering how good we know eaves is.

atf, your sig LOL

talking of which - anyone want a nova? lo mileage, 45mpg, £300 ono

Can you really call Buxton a "journeyman" when all he's really done is Clios'? But nether the less he is a talented driver and another worthy of a decent shot at the BTCC. Theres only so much time you can spend winning in the feeder series before you need to step up. Both drivers did a good job with the under developed 307 tho. Eaves was pretty consistantly upfront last year. He's a good second driver, provided good support for Neal last year.

Sorry... should have make it clearer: I was questioning Dan Eaves, not Daniel Buxton. I'd certainly be happy to have Daniel in my team! It's Dan I'm unsure of.

I don't see why people are getting on his back. His first year with the Civic at Dynamics he did an OK job, nothing spectacular. But people were talking about the areo problems the Civic was encountering. Last year did he a good supporting role as the teams number two, chipping in with that Thruxton hat-trick. He wasn't afraid to stick it in the mix with the likes of Plato or Muller either.....ask the barriers at Paddock hill bend!

The driver who tested for Dynamics, Stuart Hall has signed for Fortec in F3, so I assume that rules him out of any BTCC drive.

Thats a wee bit surprising. Wonder who'll be in at Dynamics now?

Neal
Howell
Turkington

Wasn't that surprising as he was always aiming for BF3. The TD test just came about because of circumstance.

There are pics of Pinkneys Integra on BTCC Racing, quite a striking livery, although I'm not sure I like it!
The paint job is pink but the cars interior is still TD orange!!

Here's a pic of Bell's livery from his car launch this evening. There'll more and better shots tomorrow. Whilst it looks very "official" BMW-like, I'm a bit disappointed it isn't more like his livery from the car he raced the BMW-one-make series, just to add even more colour to the grid this year!

Maybe he had no choice. Sponsor demands are greater than asthetic nicities.

We'll get to see raceday who his sponsors are and whether or not their involvement played a role in determining the car's paint scheme. Though I admit, the paint scheme is a very conservative one.

It just dawned on me -- the car's red/blue brushstroke colours remind me of the Oreca run French Supertourisme BMW paint scheme of the mid-90s! Does anyone else recall that?

I'm sure I read before it was to perhaps be painted in Traditional Schnitzer colours.

Check out the middle of the page, you'll see a small picture of the red/blue paintbrush supertourisme BMW paint scheme I'm referring to.
