SVG pulling Waters in late in the race was driver not car speed. It was down to his tyre management. SVG just had more tyre left than Waters.

Then Tickford had better team strategy, what about Brodie on sunday, Reynolds pitted one lap later for tyres but couldn't hold him out?

Step too far? No, don't think so but it's good that the requested engine changes weren't made as well.

That may be the case but having Mustangs right there, competing for the win is good to see. The idea of parity is to have an equal technical platform that teams can then tune and drivers do their thing with - so that victories or not are down to the team and the driver on the weekend. On the basis of one weekend only so far, it appears that the revised aero has given us that or something very like it.

Both brands seemed to have strengths and weaknesses in different parts of the track.

Just looking at the Adelaide track I expect it will favour the camaros.

Yeah - I'd expect that. Might make passing possible in cars closely matched in lap times and all that.

Might turn out to be true but bear in mind that the Ford lads get to adjust and tune their cars for the track in Adelaide and that could make quite a difference.

I did consider that but there are 6 tight corners and the camaro seems to have better drive out of the slower sections.

Different car tuners equally have different car behaviours.
There are some Camaros and Mustangs that can’t keep tyres under them, while others seem to be able to go all day.

Or is that down to the quality of the drivers.

Ford teams will have more power after testing with the transient dyno.

Ford teams would be unbeatable if they could harness hot air to make horsepower and excuses for downforce.

Aero problems seem to be solved, the drive out of slower corners is where the camaro has the advantage, the transient dyno should sort that out.

Aero testing won't fix the basic motor disparity and those who think they are clever never like admitting they have made mistakes.

That's the elephant in the room isn't it, hopefully the transient dyno testing will help.

It defies logic that those who think they are clever and signed off on motor specs that were clearly never going to work and then blamed everything else will be able to fix the fundamental problem that now exists. Genius at work does not apply in this case. Mercedes and Nissan proved that trying to match two different concepts was a dead end and if they could not get something like parity a single dyno in Melbourne sure won't. Change the rules on RPM limits and it will be job done and it will provide some very interesting racing as the differences between the motors give advantages to both at different parts of the track. That will put some real tactical decisions in the driver's seat something SC has not had for a very long time, possibly back to Perkins running the Australian motor.

Agree, technical parity will be unlikely to ever work in Gen 3 with the different engine architecture, Ford is asking for a small increase in torque so it's a game of wait and see.

The best thing about this testing is that it's carbon neutral.

The wind tunnel is driven entirely by hot air from Ford fans making excuses why they don't win despite giving multiple concessions through the year.

Even the lubrication comes from their tears...

You don't need an excuse - it's DJR.

That will only be needed if there is a disparity in the current configurations at Gold Coast & Adelaide, which many have been quick to point "does not exist, it's all Ford hot air".

Supposedly:
