I am hoping it is the very talented young man I think it may be.

Also, and unrelated to the above, Simon Belcher has not confirmed the Toyota or Rob Austin yet - just they'll be a one car team. I think Rob is a cert, but maybe not the Toyota.

Again unrelated, why did Speedworks run two different cars last year? Two the same would surely have been a better plan for data sharing if nowt else. Or was it a case of they ran young Simpson and the Honda he acquired? Just curious!

If I remember story is Simpson bought that Civic himself but didn't have the budget to have it run by Dynamics so got a Speedworks deal instead

Expecting Team HARD to announce they've picked up the VW CC's from BMR/BKR and will fit them out with RML kit. Should be a quick car still!

Directed at a few people here: can we not have another silly season full of people going, effectively, 'I know something you don't know'?

Thanks.

What is the actual benefit of running the RML kit? Does it make the car faster in any way?

Quotes regarding RML parts:

Andrew Jordan "The general balance of the car was very good, the car felt very progressive and generated good grip, through high speed corners it had good rear rotation which allowed me to unwind the lock out to corner exit rather than having to apply opposite lock. Steering felt much more positive, made the front end and change of direction feel very direct.”

Stewart Lines "We’re not looking at finding big chunks of time anymore, it’s just little bits that we can try and look for that can hopefully add up"

And given that everyone in the paddock seems to suggest they would prefer to run RML parts (if they aren't already), I would guess they improve the performance of the car.

Main benefits is that you can't run the old GRPM kit this year under the regs, 2016 was only a transition year to allow teams a wider time frame to invest in the RML kit.

I don't think there is really an option for next year - plan was that there would be a season for GPRM to continue with all cars then going to RML for 2017.

Interesting decision from HARD given that the VW will need completely re-engineering at the front end for the change.

As for BKR, it's a wait and see job but there are a couple of options available.

They are an upgrade on their Toyotas, not sure they are on Speedworks or Handys though...

not sure i would have bought the VW CC's from BKR, speaking to various people heavily involved the shells were well past their best and weren't able to be repaired much more. They were struggling towards the end of the year to hold them together.

So unless BMR had a few spares, which i'm sure BKR would have had access to if they did, then i can only see they have bought them for knowledge/parts and will have to re-shell them or at least undertake major repair work.

Especially with Mark Howard at the wheel...

There were 4 CCs in 2015 so that would leave one spare assuming it has survived.
