One swallow does not make a summer.
It'll take a few stints of actually not being caught handily by Tom Gamble (or similarly good drivers) to convince me Will Stevens is worth his weight. There are quite a few reasons this is Panis Racing's first ELMS victory in five years. Stevens is one of them. |

It still shows that they can turn things around. I think Stevens is getting there, although there is still room for improvement. I just hope he gets the drive he deserves, he's been a bit unlucky with his career at times

a minor nudge to inform anyone local that the spa race is open to spectators and free entry with their covid safe requirements - details on the elms faceboom page. come and watch! it’s gonna be REALLY close (but socially distanced )

Do they come in any other colour or with car logo's on the braces?
Will the race be covered on any channel in the uk? |

Amidst the tumbleweed, the ELMS 2022 calendar was published yesterday.
Hungaroring & Imola in, Red Bull Ring & Monza out. Also of note, the proximity of the Imola/Hungaroring races to their WEC counterparts (Spa/Monza respectively). There's a real push to funnel teams up into the WEC - which is fine, as long as the ELMS retains a healthy group of entrants. |

I saw the calendar, then realised I didn’t care. P2 and P3 are each essentially a one-make series. Not interested. I’ll happily travel to watch it again (having been to Spa and Paul Ricard in recent years) but not until the grid gets some variety.

Really bad accidents today at Eau Rouge/Raidillon, its time to have "that" discussion about removing SPA from modern motorsports. Its too dangerous.

I hope not, many still wants to race there, work there, spectate there.
Is Motorsport that isn’t modern OK? I do hope so. Last edited by Adam43; 19 Sep 2021 at 03:43. |

Brilliant effort. Horrible music.
About Spa, I'm not sure what else is expected with tarmac going all the way to the tyre barriers, but that's he only way bikes are going back there - what's good for one isn't necessarily good for the other. They've opened up the run-offs as much as possible for Radillon, bar flattening the hill and clearing the tress on both sides. Aitken's suggestion of pushing back the barrier on the left of Eau Rouge is worth looking at, but that wouldn't have done much yesterday (I didn't see Hauser's accident, but it looked similar to Jamin's). |

First corner carnage at Spa. Still can't really see what happened to the 22. Director thinks he's making a music video rather than just showing one replay shot.
Yoluc reverted to some of his older habits at the first corner. Major championship implications. |

Edit - It was IDEC. Racing incident though, not like Yoluc who went in too hard at the first corner. Honestly, the race so far hasn't been ELMS's greatest advertisement. Cool (pun unintended) heads need to prevail. |

ok, regarding the new bumps at eau rouge - general consensus is that it’s been undermined and damaged by the flooding. important to remember that plenty of drivers were capable of treating it with respect and not stuffing it in the wall. humble opinion is that they need to rip it up during the winter and reinforce the tunnel. whether they can afford to close the circuit to do so is another matter.
don’t get me started on the driving standards. yoluc in particular should be on a last warning. |

Red flag in Portimao, Rojas loses his left-rear wheel out of the last turn (!), Fontana just about makes it past, Laskaratos crashes into pit entry in avoidance of Rojas.
Repairs will take a while I imagine. |

It's worth pointing out that Sophia Floersch is doing quite well, compared to Aberdein #22, Maldonado #32, Canal #65, Colapinto #26 and Ye #41.
She has barely lost 1 - 2 seconds in the 16 laps she has done so far. |
