I got it off someone who was kind enough to email it to me... +14.366 after one single race as novice. Actually quite enjoyable after racing my local circuit which is MUCH tighter! You get scared going down the straights hehe.
Might look at getting some setups... |

i got disco'd unfortunately. my whole internet connection went down. so it was nothing to do with the server spud. a pity, as i was the quickest out there, and should have won.
i love zandy too, getting a perfect lap is so rare but so satisfying!!! i was annoyed not to get a 25.5ish lap time, which i know is within me. |

You didn't need to go anywhere near that fast Owen.........
Sorry about the connection though. The race was clearly yours from the first few minutes of practice. Having said that, at least Spud and I can say we were in front of you when you were disco'd....... |

For the first half of the race I was right on his tail, then a mistake lost me my concentration dammit.
Just watch the server replay. I for one was relishing it. |

Spud and I had a good race, never much more than a second or so apart. I made a few mistakes early on (which I was lucky to hold) when the cat took up residence under my feet...... Then Spud obviously lost it somewhere, so I gained a reasonable cushion. That went out at one stage to over 30 seconds, but I made a couple of mistakes in the later stages when I lost concentration.
So that everyone knows the score (I'd rather be open about it, as it is difficult for me to deal with), I'm currently making a decision about my own driving. Having taken one internal second opinion and an external second opinion, I am going to be upholding my own complaint about myself. (And that's pretty convaluted....). I now have to decide on the sanction...... |

With that in mind, this info may be of interest to everyone, particularly those relatively new to GPL...

The time has come for me to post the official results from last Tuesday evening's Zandvoort race.
You know that I've been thinking very long and hard about my own driving and whether I should impose a penalty upon myself for hitting Pete about a third of the way through the race. Having taken advice, both from within and outside the league, I have decided that a penalty should be imposed. I have considered at great length the pros and cons of the various penalties available, but I do not propose to provide the detail of my reasoning here. I am happy to provide further explanation by PM or email, if requested. The race results are therefore as follows: 1. Aysedasi 27 laps 40m29.210 2. Spudgun 27 laps 23 seconds 3. Richard C 27 laps 42 seconds 4. Peter S 24 laps 3 laps 5. Owen W 7 laps 20 laps Points are awarded 10,8,6, 5 and 4. Additional points awarded to Owen W for pole position and fastest race lap. Aysedasi penalised by imposition of 2-race suspended ban. |

By my calculations, the TTFRL table reads as follows after Zandvoort
1. Aysedasi (Kya 10, Monaco 0, Sachs 8 Zandy 10) - 28 2. Pete S. (Kya 2, Monaco 6, Sachs 10, Zandy 5) - 23 3. Spudgun (Kya 6, Monaco 8, Sachs 0, Zandy 8) - 22 4. Richard C (Kya 3, Monaco 5, Sachs 6, Zandy 6) - 20 5. William C (Kya 5, Monaco 10, Sachs 0, Zandy 0 + 4 points for PP and FL for both Kya and Monaco) - 19 6. Owen W (Kya 8, Monaco 0, Sachs 0, Zandy 4 + 4 points for PP and FPL for both Sachs and Zandy) - 16 7. Tony S (Kya 4, Monaco 0, Sachs 0, Zandy 0) - 4 8. Dani F (Kya 1, Monaco 0, Sachs 0, Zandy 0) - 1 9= Down Force - 0 9= Andy M - 0 On the subject of the extra point for PP and fastest lap, I have taken the view that these should count even if the player then disconnects intentionally. Again, if anyone thinks my calculations are incorrect, please say, so Spud can update as and when. Last edited by Aysedasi; 29 Aug 2004 at 09:42. |

I did
I also found out at the Nurburgring on Saturday that everything I've learnt in GPL could be put to good use in a go-kart. I'd never done it before but I ended up 2nd fastest of the 7 karts on track, 1.3 seconds faster than my dad (who went to Brands Hatch Racing school and held a racing license in the mid-70s) and only 0.8 slower than a 14-year old who'd been karting for 5 years... And I only had 10 minutes... |
