Many series had a seperate cup for the DSG car. The cars would all race to together and earn points for the main series but the DSG cars would compete for a DSG cup in that Italy has a whole DSG championship, seperate from TCR Italy How is a seperate gen 1 cup for older cars a bad thing. Gives people who cant afford a new model or those at the back a trophy to fight for |

One month ago, the TCR Eastern Europe had announced a completely different 2024 schedule:

I do wonder where the next TCR cars are going to come from. Will anyone develop anything new?

It's not a new body, but CUPRA is offering the 'new' Leon VZ for this year.
The Honda Civic Type-R FL5 was new to the market last year. The Toyota Corolla TCR was new to the market last year (but only currently in South America). The Lynk & Co 03 FL (for 'facelift') was introduced last year, marking an evolution for the 03 TCR. GRM is developing a new model Peugeot 308 TCR for release later this year. However, it's clear that there are fewer cars coming out of the VAG Group than previously (at the peak there were Volkswagen, Audi and SEAT and with Volkswagen long gone and Audi scaling back customer support we're left with predominantly CUPRA now). The Hyundai Elantra N is in its fourth year now, and might be expected to get a facelift soon. The challenges of smaller car builders offering truly global customer support are clear. The larger firms with more resources (VAG) can manage this easier. Hence, it seems at the moment, newer cars are more likely to stay regional (i.e. Toyota, Peugeot). |

TCR Germany restart postponed to 2025 due to low amount of participants
(I believe effectively that's cancellation, not sure interest can rise within a year) It seems that TCR in Europe is in a huge decline, with grids dropping off everywhere, TCR Europe, TCR UK, TCR Eastern Europe, TCR Denmark. TCR World Tour has just 5 confirmed entries with 15 days before the start of the season. The only championship which seems to grow is the super low-cost TCR Italy DSG... Wonder what is the main reason for sich a decline. Has the cost risen way too high? Or everyone is just switching to GT3/GT4 |

Races are usually boring, so they draw few spectators and therefore little ticket sales and TV rights.
Also promotion has been ineffective. There's no marquee race in Europe or North America. |

The TCR South America will race this weekend at Interlagos.
It will have a single 80-minute race, with a 20-minute break for refuelling and driver change. There's 19 entries, with 17 Brazilians, 8 Argentines, 3 Uruguayans, 1 Spaniard, and 9 drivers TBC. https://southamerica.tcr-series.com/...-de-interlagos |

It is, Max Kruse Racing took over the car and will be using it this weekend in the Nürburgring 24 Hours this weekend.
Turns out that there were only two of them, one was destroyed and Max Kruse Racing have the other. As its not a homologated TCR car, its running in a different class though. |

Why does BMW or MINI have no interest in TCR? A BMW 128ti TCR would be quite neat IMO. Is there a problem that selling TCRs is less profitable than selling GT4s and GT3s?! |
