It is NOT Marlboro tobacco. So, it is not their color nor is the livery anything like the projected Marlboro livery we saw back in the 80's.

Most countries in the western world now require cigarettes to be sold in plain wrapping so the livery question should not even apply unless the cars are white/black with lettering resembling the bland formal packaging now prevalent in many western countries....

So what?
What they are selling and what McLaren advertise is something that is legally advertised and is supposed to be helping people break their habit and deliver them from the evils of the tobacco....

I could never understand the way governments would stigmatize the tobacco industry when the governments simply put huge taxes on the product and continued to make it legal to sell it.
Surely if it was that evil then the most productive thing to do was make it completely illegal. Ban it.
But that would kill the tax goose and so it went on for years after people realized just how addiction worked.

And here we have people wanting to what?
Ban people from using liveries that resemble tobacco packs that are no longer exist or are sold and haven't been for a decade in some countries.

Our world is already way over regulated. we don't need any more.
Advertising a product that was legally permitted to be sold and taxed at ridiculous rates was an assault on democracy and personal freedoms and responsibility.
It was not until the packaging was restricted and design was consigned to the rubbish heap that the ban on advertising and sponsorship made any real sense.

I think it's a good livery on the McLaren and I don't see much wrong with the sponsorship. We've had worse

Yeah, I didn't believe it either and the prices were INSANE. I looked and to go last year plus hotel for a decent viewing area not GA it was gonna be close to 2k

Ok, they use the excuse of new stadium, space limitations, etc but you leave a year and think you're coming back? Especially with a VERY costly construction to build it and the local anger that was yelled down by look how great it is voices with more money. A year away and people will wonder why they need it back.

The move to the speedway sounds rather reasonable. Now, I just hope for good weather.

At least another oval has been added to the calendar and the finale to boot. If TMS comes back in 2025, that would be excellent.

Hopefully it's a better show than it was. another too big tri-oval of boring last time out. Rather have the old Fairgrounds track but think that poor thing is done with big shows. But I'm not a superspeedway with current Indy format guy,

Nashville Superspeedway is shorter than TMS, at 1.33 miles compared to 1.5 and the current Dallara is quite a different car from the IR05, when IndyCar last raced there back in 2008. The track surface is also concrete, which will make things interesting.

As far as I remember, IndyCar races on Nashville Speedway were one-lane. Hopefully the DW12 can run multiple lanes.

Yeah. they were similar to Texas but no cause of the stickem but the track. But the car was a very different animal so maybe better but not holding my breath and not a fan of oval to end it but at least it's not double points Sonoma finale
