Well, i wouldnt classify either the Cork Screw or Indianapolis as chicanes.

But theyre good anyway

Oh right, because chicanes are always pieces of **** that no one likes, and since people actually LIKE the Corkscrew and Indianapolis, they couldn't possibly be chicanes..

Let's go to the actual definition of 'chicane':
2 a : an obstacle on a racecourse b : a series of tight turns in opposite directions in an otherwise straight stretch of a road-racing course

Here is Laguna Seca..

Sure looks like a 'series of tight turns in an opposite direction' to me..

Indiapolis at Le Mans on the other hand..
(linked so we don't get page stretchage)
Click
In this case, Royk, you'd be right, that's no chicane, just two turns that arent even close enough to each other to be considered one..

Right, that takes care of my weekly b*tching..

The Chase at Bathurst is a great chicane, you enter it at over 300km/h... ...

FW, so by your definition "in an otherwise straight stretch" means that Albert Park, technically rather then having 4 chicanes, it only have one (Waite)...

I agree that Indy at Le Mans isn't a chicane, but I hate that meaning of a chicane...

I made a new circuit. This is something which I have been thinking about for a while (years now), and I finally decided to draw up the little buggar. I'd love to hear some of your opinions on it...

Waite is not a chicane, imho . It's too fast. More like a double-kink.

A chicane is, as FW said, an obstacle. Waite is not an obstacle.

Though, i still wouldnt say the Corkscrew is a chicane. Chicanes are combinations that has only got one purpose - slowing down the cars. That's not the purpose of the Corkscrew

Hey, i just talked to Lee on ICQ .

I told him to check out fantasytracks.2ya.com . He told me why he left, but i don see the necessity to tell about it here. I see his point though...

He won't come back here, but i think he's considering fantasytracks.2ya.com as an option

Yep he did. He mentioned names to me, but it would be silly to start it up again here now. Lee made his decision, and eventhough i see his point, he probably did'nt tell me everything.

But fingers crossed that we'll see him on Fantasytracks. His tracks were, though a bit extravagant sometimes , always interesting and nice . Those of you who were there in "the old days" knows about this .

Yeah, that does look nice . The last section looks to me like a part of the My Tracks Raceway paired with #1 from my chicane (ex-)challenge. That 180¢ª turn on the right is HUGE! (Not a bad thing, though )

I inserted a ° into a word document, and then pasted that into here...

Anyway for your comments on the final corner, I thought it would make a change from the usual tight corner into long medium corner that might normally be used in that situation. I think it looks like the last two corners at Albi too

by the way, the track was NOT intended to look like a '£' nor was the lake supposed to look like a prehistoric creature of some description

thanks for the comments tr about Mascot...

Nice track p, it looks a bit like Las Vegas's Ceasar's Palace track, just that you have a lake in the middle... I don't really like however, sorry to say...

Umm, I have no idea who Lee is, but he sounds like a good guy, and I might actually look back at some of the posts on this thread to find out more. If I get anything, I'll surely post it...

The º is gotten by pressing the holding ALT, then pressing the numbers 0 1 8 6 and then letting of of ALT...Hope this helps ...

Doesn't work here (alt+0186)

In fact, the shortcut key in word is Ctrl+@,space whatever the comma means, but no variation on that theme seems to work either...

make sure that you use the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard, and not the numbers on the top of the letters. if it still doesn't work, then it might have something to do with the fact that the UK produces different keyboards and software for them, i dont know...
