I'm inclined to agree Peter, whilst they do drop more oil than the Torrey Canyon, they are entertaining. But I'm also beginning to enjoy the pre 66 GP cars, along with the early F3 and Formula Juniors.

Im going out on a limb a bit here, but if it is the car I am thinking of it has a Gypsy Moth Aero engine in it! I have watched a video of it on yt of it at Spa, narrow rear track going through Eau Rouge with opposite lock. Magnificent piece of machinery. As for the car AFAIK it is a GN Parker Special.

I also find as I get older I am liking cars that in my youth I had no time for, primarily pre-war cars. I blame it on Bob for getting me on that path with all the wonderful photos...., and now Peter. Thanks to JR of this Parish I am now an avid Talbot fan!

I'm not a great fan of this Fiat I should admit and do remember endless talks with Mike about the Pegaso which I've always found technically interesting. May be because my uncle owned one among other rarities/oddities.

Indeed, and I suspect the 'village' is Farnham. Knowing Bob is Mike Hawthorn's #1 fan I'm thinking it might be at the tribute / memorial to Hawthorn, held in Farnham in January 2009.... on the 50th anniversary of Mike's death. ISTR a number of ex Hawthorn cars did a street parade driven by their current custodians, and notables such as Sir Stirling, Damon Hill and others.

Hopefully I havent had a 2+2=5 moment and got it totally wrong.
