I always imagined United was self sponsored, or competed with driver assisted funding as it appears there is rarely a commonly known commercial brand on those cars… and they seem to pop up EVERYWHERE… so the pressures would be much less to chase headlines..

And seems to be drivers who are in racing to enjoy their money and not bring the business along with them. Learn to drive fast and assist a young kid moving up, always been a fan of theirs and livery is nice, clean and understated. Not every one needs to burns the eyes to get attention

Apparently Prema Racing have been talking to Logan Sargeant, about joining their IndyCar team next year.

Sargeant doesn't fit either criteria? Or did he drive for them in F3? |

Sounds like money was the issue to me. My guess is that they wanted to keep Rossi but pay him less than he's currently getting. I like Rossi and he's been pretty much Pato's equal this year. It's been rumored that Hy Vee is going to follow Lundgaard to McLaren which if true might be reason enough for the move. I hope that doesn't prove to be the case. |

I thought the Hy Vee deal was Bobby Rahals's and was linked to the multi-year deal he put together for the race at Iowa in 2022? |

Pretty sure this is the 3rd year that RLL has been sponsored by Hy Vee, so this season could be the end of the sponsorship. 2022 was with Harvey's car and the sponsorship moved to Lundgaard for 2023 and 2024. Hy Vee following Lundgaard is just a rumor that I read on another site. Seems like it was from an Indy based blogger or journalist that I'd never heard of. I hope that there's nothing to it. Hy Vee has done a lot for the series, I hope they stick around in whatever capacity works for them. |

So in addition to the likes of Mick Schu, Ilott, amd Sargeant, there are quite a few other fairly well known and well regarded ex Prema guys who could conceivably fit the bill for an Indycar seat next year:
Armstrong (Ganassi contracted), Arthur Leclerc (not doing a lot), Schwartzmann (still very much a Ferrark 'junior'), Hauger (will be looking for something new next year), Deruvala (where did he go?), Fuoco (Ferrari locked in?), Vesti (says he wants to try different categories but is still a Merc junior.) Crawford (either a 3rd yesr of F2 beckons or he could build an Indycar career?) And one that would be pretty big for Indycar in China... Zhou. He may be out of F1 this year so that could be pretty mega? Last edited by chunterer; 13 Jul 2024 at 08:26. |

Rossi to Prema would be pretty shocking.

Exactly, it fits with them being a pro race team and wanting a driver who knows the car at first. They can engineer but would rather know what a baseline should be instead of 2 new kids.

I'd put Ilott in one car as the more experienced driver and Vesti in the other
However, neither is very likely to happen. |
